Reason for rejection

Original photo captured on Mamiya 645. Aperture f16. Tripod and cable release used. Not sure why images were rejected. Any suggestions.

White balance is the obvious issue in both.

Looks like technical issues on both.

Neither are adequately lit and as @Jill_C said, the white balance is not neutral. See this link about white balance.

Hi. I've run this image through the photo software. The image looks a lot brighter now, and sharper.

@Ringneck Parrot , I think you over did it on the sharpening and also missed some mistakes and valuable composition requirements.

Here a section of your edited photo at 200%

Notice the rock has too much contrast. The water is very noisy. Iff you view at 400%, you can see color noise in the water. Also, in the original photo, the shadows on the right are still under exposed and the highlights (sunlight) on the top left are disturbing. I believe it is also still to cold.

Here a section of my idea of an edited correction.

Notice that the sharpness is reduced and the water is now smooth.

Here is an example of what I believe Adobe is looking for.

The steps were sharpening, noise reduction, white balance and exposure adjustments. I then cropped the image so that the rock comes from the lower right corner and the tree middle is on a Rule of Thirds intersection and that the highlighted sunny area is not seen. A shadow on the rocks in the lower left was then removed.

Like I said, this is only my interpertation.

Thanks Ralph. The original is on a 6 x 4:5cm slide. Oh, I do miss the good ol days of film. Can't remember who did the scan for me, but obviously they didn't quite get it. Will try again and resubmit.
