Rejected images when closing my account

What happened to my rejected files if I close my account? I definitely want to close my account.
Why do they preserve the files? Are they full resolutions files?
And if they keep them, what is the use of those rejected images if I close my account?

If they were rejected, they don't exist anymore.

Those previews are just a reminder to you of what you submitted. That's all.

They were rejected but I can see them online. So they still have them, no?
Is this a small version of what we submitted? or high resolution? How can we be sure?

They keep a tiny thumbnail which is not useful or saleable.
