Hello. I'm new to photography so I'd like to hear from more advanced members of the community as to why my photos were rejected. Thank you.

The first photo is way too dark.

The second is not straight and there are some halos around the fence.

In addition to what is said by @RALPH_L, you should either capture the twig of the first image in focus or remove it with an editor.

The second photo is too blue, thus a white balance issue.
