Question

Unable to upload from Lightroom Classic

I am trying to upload images from Lightroom Classic. I have moved the relevant images to The Adobe Stock collection under "publish services". When I click on "Publish" it appears to begin to upload the relevant images. But then it stops after a minute or so and displays the following message: "Upload failed because of technical difficulties. please try again later". I have logged out and back in closed and reopened Lightroom, logged in and out of my Stock contributor account, rebooted my computer, checked that the Stock plugin is enabled. I have tried this on multiple occasions over several days. On one occasion it managed to upload a single image before the message popped up, but otherwise nothing.

Any suggestions?

There is nothing suspicious in your settings as I can see. My configuration is similar, but still on Windows 10.

What Anti-virus software are you using?

Can you upload the pictures manually, via the browser?

I'm using the free version of Avast One. I am also using Microsoft Defender, which is new and I thought could be the problem, so I switched it off and tried again, but it made no difference. I could try switching off Avast as well and see if that helps. I can try uploading a few sample images to Stock from Explorer - I haven't tried that yet as it is so much simnpler (if it works) to export from LR - saves exporting the edited images first. But I'll give it a try and report back. Thanks again.

Thanks everyone. I see the system in Bridge allows you to drag one image at a time, or a group across to the Publuish panel, which is different from LR, where it tries to upload everything in the Upload to Stock collection at once. I tried publishing a couple of images from Bridge, including JPG, ARW and DNG files. All worked OK. What didn't work was TIF files, which seem to be unsupported. This could be the problem. Perhaps LR is unable to publish anything if there is even one unsupported file in the publish collection? Some of my edited images are in TIF because that is the default format for plugins such as Topaz, Silver FX etc. Do you think this could be the problem? If so, I'll need to convert all those images to DNG or JPG in order to publich them.

Files get converted to JPEG before uploading. I have Tiff files that I submitted to stock in Lightroom Classic. That's not the problem, but it looks like the Bridge workflow is different. Raw files get converted to JPEG. With TIFF, this does not seem to be the workflow.

Sign out of your Creative Cloud account and sign in again.

I now checked with multiple pictures, it works perfectly.

If the sign-out does not help, please post the system info. The first few lines will be enough (up to SQLite version).
