Question

Unable to upload from Lightroom Classic

I am trying to upload images from Lightroom Classic. I have moved the relevant images to The Adobe Stock collection under "publish services". When I click on "Publish" it appears to begin to upload the relevant images. But then it stops after a minute or so and displays the following message: "Upload failed because of technical difficulties. please try again later". I have logged out and back in closed and reopened Lightroom, logged in and out of my Stock contributor account, rebooted my computer, checked that the Stock plugin is enabled. I have tried this on multiple occasions over several days. On one occasion it managed to upload a single image before the message popped up, but otherwise nothing.

Any suggestions?

There is nothing suspicious in your settings as I can see. My configuration is similar, but still on Windows 10.

What Anti-virus software are you using?

Can you upload the pictures manually, via the browser?

I'm using the free version of Avast One. I am also using Microsoft Defender, which is new and I thought could be the problem, so I switched it off and tried again, but it made no difference. I could try switching off Avast as well and see if that helps. I can try uploading a few sample images to Stock from Explorer - I haven't tried that yet as it is so much simnpler (if it works) to export from LR - saves exporting the edited images first. But I'll give it a try and report back. Thanks again.

Thanks Jill. That is interesting. The "workaround" is a real pain in the neck so I'd much prefer to find out what the actual problem is and get it fixed. Any more ideas welcome.  Is there any way to get help from Adobe? When I go to their help pages and click "contact us" it only offers options for "download and install", "cancel your plan" or "change your plan". None of these are relevant. If I go to Creative Cloud help I can see a virtual assistant or a US phone number (I am in the UK). There seems no way nto actually send them a message!?

You are looking into the customer support. Contributors are not customers. You need to use the contributor support. Need help? (Stock Contributor Support)

However, @Jill_C and I have tried uploading from Lightroom Classic and we both had no problems. It looks as something with your computer or the internet connection blocks. If you have the possibility, try on a different network, or with a different computer. This is a classical approach to find out what intermediate system blocks.

Sign out of your Creative Cloud account and sign in again.

I now checked with multiple pictures, it works perfectly.

If the sign-out does not help, please post the system info. The first few lines will be enough (up to SQLite version).
