Unsupported country or region

Hi everyone, 

 

So, this morning I got a notification on my Adobe Stock contributor account: "Congratulations! Click here to choose and redeem your Creative Cloud app.[Read This First]". 

When I click on the link a new window opens up with the redeem code, but when I click on "redeem" I get the error "This code is from a country or region that does not match your Adobe ID. "

Now I know that my country is not supported by Adobe (Bosnia & Herzegovina), but is there any way to successfully use this code? I have tried contacting the support but they were not helpful. Thanks

With that message, contact Adobe customer support. If the agent can't help, ask for a supervisor. If the connection gets lost, reconnect. Be persistant. But check first that your Adobe ID and your contributor account are in the same region!

So as always they just spin you around with useless links and pieces of advice.  General support will not help us, so I guess there is no support for unsupported countries.

The country may not be available for buying Adobe creative cloud, but even so as Adobe deems it good to issue a code to you, I really would insist on this. If you are not eligible for getting a code, you should not get one. The decision not to sell to some countries are mostly legal issues ie the need to have a local entity set-up.

 

And then there are countries where America disallows doing busines. If you are in such a country, you probably also can't be a contributor.

I corresponded with 3 agents through chat and all three transferred me to a "team of contributors" who never responded. The fourth gave me an email where I wrote and explained the situation and I still haven't received an answer, and most likely I won't.
It's strange that everything worked as it should before and now it doesn't. Some of the photographers from Serbia claim that the code works for them. Maybe their profile is registered in another country like America, Canada, Belgium, Turkey...
One of the photographers corresponded with the agent and the agent told him that his profile was registered in Russia, the man was surprised how in Russia because he has nothing to do with Russia.
And what are we going to do now? Will Adobe help or continue to ignore us?

in the moment you have a redemption code, you need to ask the support guy what in that code makes that it does not work with your Adobe ID. That is a task, which Adobe customer support needs to do. With that information, yo can eventually go back to the contributor support. 

 

I really would like to get an indication on what to do from @MatHayward . It's not normal that codes get issued and whennthe legal recipient of those codes want to redeem them, they get told that it's not for their region.

No need to get instructions.
Thank you for being active. It is not normal that we receive codes and cannot activate them on our profiles, but we have to create new ones and register in Germany, Holland, France, etc. in order to use the codes. It's a shame how they treat people from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are all contributors here who have been working on the stock site for years, selling photos, videos, vectors, and Adobe makes good money from our sales.

But Adobe does not sell Creative Cloud in those countries. So I suppose they can't generate codes for those countries.

 

And as you well know, you also made good money from Adobe's stock site. And Adobe is not obliged to issue codes (however, when they do, they should work).

 Adobe didn't sell Creative Cloud in those countries in 2022 and 2023 but the code worked. This is the first time that the code is not working for us. All support you provide is useless, since they never respond with the solution. It's impossible that no one understand the problem when its so simple. Just give us normal codes that are not country limited

I can on,y speculate, why the codes are country or region locked. It is probably to avoid the trade of the codes. But also, we are all contributors like you, but the counsel we give is the correct one. And it is not true, that support does never answer, as people here reported that they got answers.

 

We had since ever users telling us that support is unreachable. The only answer that I have to this is that each time, I contacted support, I got an answer. Now, I want not to rule out, that requests get lost, especially if users e-mail the (contributor) support. But contacting support via the form gets you an answer.

 

You need to check if your account (Adobe ID) and the code are in the same region. The only one that can help you with that is customer support. Part of the problem may be that the contributor account and the Adobe ID are registered in different countries, as you can see here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/stock-contributors-discussions/unsupported-country-or-region/m-p/1444...

Try again with customer support. Questions to ask:

Where (country) is your Adobe ID located?

For what region/country the redemption code has been generated?

 

Whith those information you probably know where to push the button.

There seems to be one answer on the contributor helpx files (see note 1 of the bonus program: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html😞 Contributors located in countries where the apps are not available are excluded from the Bonus Program.

 

Some contributors also seem to have an Adobe ID that is connected to a different country than their contributor account. Even if that worked before, there is never a guarantee that it will continue to work.
