Using a VPN for Security Only — Is It Allowed?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Adobe Stock Contributor and I’m considering using a VPN strictly for security purposes, such as protecting my connection when working on public or unsecured networks.

Just to be clear — I’m not using the VPN to change or hide my location, and I’m not trying to bypass any regional restrictions. The VPN would only be used to encrypt my internet traffic and keep my data safe.

Would this be acceptable under Adobe’s Contributor guidelines?

Has anyone here had experience with this or received clarification from Adobe?

Thanks in advance!

Adobe doesn't care how or from what device you access your Contributor account.

There is no issue at all with using a VPN. It's transparent and the communicating partner even does not know about the VPN.  The only issue to expect is that the VPN may be misconfigured.

Thanks! Just to be sure — when you say the VPN might be misconfigured, what kind of misconfig could cause problems? Anything specific I should avoid when using Adobe Stock Contributor?

No, it's more that you could experience technical issues, that you would attribute to the wrong cause. Every new layer introduces more complexity.
