vectors still rejected. Flummoxed, frustrated, bewildered, lost, confused

Hello:

I am revisiting this topic.

I have submitted many vector images and have many approved. In the last months, however, I've had repeated problems. I change formats (SVG, EPS, ai), pixel size of images (doesn't affect vector but influences preview) and whatever else I can think of.

Often after I try a new variation it will sail past security to fly free. Then I submit more in the same settings and they are sent to detention.

I have written to the forum before and received some responses that don't address key issues.

Here are the points mentioned in generic rejection:

  • Your vector file contains a raster/bitmap image, and vector files must not contain raster elements.

Nope

  • Your JPEG preview file has been compressed too much, so textural problems have occurred in the file.

No compression used

  • Your JPEG preview resolution must not be less than 5,000 X 3,000 (15 million pixels)

I don't make the preview, Illustrator or Affinity Designer makes them. I don't see a preview file to check. I don't see any tools to control the creation of the preview, I have increased the pixels to 4,000 in the smaller dimension and still rejected.

  • You didn't use anti-aliasing when exporting your vector file to JPEG, so there are problems with lines on the JPEG file.

Exporting vector to JPEG? Why am I exporting to JPEG? I'm submitting a vector which creates it's own preview. Should I submit a vector and a separate JPEG? That would just appear as two different images, right?

    "Adobe asks:

    Did it solve your problem?"

No, I never got an answer to my very specific questions. Many responses talked about tangentially associated issues. I still am unable to submit most vector images after trying many different options.

    Are all vectors paths closed?

    All vector paths are closed.

    Thank you for responding.

Again, I am asking what GENERAL parameters are required when saving to vector format. Specifically,

    1. Pixel dimension range,

    2. DPI

    3. SVG or EPS (for export) or (high quality)

Forget about this text. Mildly said, this text is mostly irrelevant. Adobe just forgot to adapt to the current situation.

    • When you have a JPEG file it is compressed, always. You see that with the file size. The file size is much smaller than the uncompressed 24 bit picture would be. The JPEG preview is also not generated by your application, but it is Adobe generated, and it is always good enough for use. Formerly, the contributor generated that preview, that's what the text is referring to.
    • The only point that may be relevant is your point 1, as you may have bitmap images embedded. That needs to be checked.
    • You need to check your geometry, as you may have problems there. More information on that can be found in the online documentation.
    • You need to check the fonts, you can't use fonts that are not part of the Adobe fonts or standard system fonts on both, macOS and Windows computers.
    • You need to check the layers, as all layes should be visible.

You can share a refused vector file with us and we will have a look into that. When you share, you need to share the file as submitted. And please share only one file, not a dozen.

No fonts, all layers visible, No bitmaps embedded. I have vector images on Adobe Stock dating back to 2010. I don't remember generating any preview images, pretty sure I would remember. Do you see my portfolio? Here's a link:

My geometry? I've read the online documentation more than once. Again, none of this addresses my core issues. Some images accepted, then others with same parameters rejected. It has nothing to do with the individual images. When I resubmit an image in a different format it may be accepted, the only difference being the format change.

You mention that the text is mostly irrelevant. Wow, is that Adobe talking?

When you say Adobe creates the preview you're referring to Adobe Stock, not Adobe Illustrator, I assume. So are image dimensions irrevevant? So much of this is muddy or who knows? When I save an image I first check the document size, then I check the format. There is a dialog box for different presets to choose example, "flatten" "for export". Instructions should just say which to choose or it's not important.

I love Adobe Stock and other Adobe products. In my retirement I enjoy getting that little bit of affirmation when something sells. I enjoy thinking up new subjects that haven't been done to death. But this is very murky, muddy and. in may opinion needs an overhaul.

oops, missed that one, and apparantly others too. I usually airbrush to fix or discard. Thanks for liking my portfolio.

Back to the bigger picture. I have several images waiting to get in the pipeline but no idea how to save them so they won't be bounced.

    From my letter:

I've had repeated problems. I change formats (SVG, EPS, ai)

Post one rejected vector graphic please.

We'll take a look at it.

[Moderator moved from Using the Community forums to Stock Contributors.]

JPG = a pixel-based raster image. Rescaling causes pixelation so it has very limited use.

SVG, AI or EPS = math-based vector graphic.  Rescaling causes no harm to image quality.  Vectors are preferred for both print and digital projects.

If you submit vector graphics, use math-based SVG, AI or EPS format.

Thanks, I always do exactly that. At issue seems to be the JPEG preview created by the graphics program.
