Which one did you submit that got rejected?  The first one or the original that you just posted?  If it was the first one, I would assume it is because of the oversaturated colours.  When it comes to post processing, minimal and inconspicuous is best as stated in Adobe's Requirements for Contributing:

General editing tips

Do: Process your images subtly — clean color images that are in focus sell well.

I personally don't see much wrong with your second posted photo (original).  (And I do think it is well composed and interesting subject.)

What was the reason you were given?  Technical issues?  I think it would be the oversaturated colours.
