why were these photos rejected

I think the ferns photo could be brightened up a bit in Photoshop or Lightroom and resubmitted.  Focus problems are harder to correct in post.

All the photos are underexposed and not in sharp focus. When taking photos with obstacle in the forefront, either focus on them and use depth to capture beyond or remove them. Everything in the forefront must be in sharp focus.

The first one is not in sharp focus, and the blurry leaves in the foreground are distracting.

The 2nd and 3rd are underexposed 

the 4th is also underexposed and not in sharp focus.
