Adobe stock cancellation is it a scam?

Hello,

 

I am very confused at everything, I managed to have found my self in a contract for Adobe STock - I have no idea what this is and I think I signed up when I had a free trial of creative cloud some months ago - I cancelled everything and thought that would include stock.

I have never received receipts or conformation of stock subscription emails from Adobe and last month I noticed that I was being charged money by Adobe each month - I have now spent the past month trying to understand what is going on by chatting to Adobe advisors on the chat function on this site - tonight I have spent roughly 4 hours - with not many responses and all I am told is there is a cancellation fee. 

 

I don't know what Stock is - I'm sure its wonderful for the people who use it - but I want to cancel and I want. Refund - I have no idea what it is and I will not have any use for it. It would be helpful if there was a clear way of understanding how to get some support on here as well. I'm not sure if this is even the right place for this.

    Adobe stock is not a scam, cancellation is not a scam neither. You have subscribed an annual, renewable subscription to stock. When you have cancelled your creative cloud subscription, you cancelled only that, and you kept an active stock subscription in your account. Go and check the e-mails you got at the moment of the subscription and the cancellation of Adobe Creative Cloud. And check Adobe stock (https://stock.adobe.com) so that you know what you have subscribed to.

     

    At latest at the very first charge, which was your second month of the Adobe stock subscription, you should have reacted. Having charges like that, month per month, and not asking where those charges come from, is not a sign of active financial management.

     

    Now you have an annual subscription of Adobe stock. You have two possibilities: you pay until the last month and go and cancel then free of charge, or you cancel now, and you pay half of the remaining due as an early cancellation fee.You can self cancel by going to your account: https://account.adobe.com/plans, clicking “Manage Plan” and “Cancel your plan”. Cancel your Adobe Stock membership 

     

    If you can't self-cancel, you will need to contact Adobe Customer care. Adobe customer care can be contacted by beginning a secure chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen. Pop-up blockers need to be disabled, you need to accept cookies! If the chat window fails to open, or is non-responsive, use a different device and/or browser to start the interaction.

    This is a pure scam. No free trial will ever end in paying 50% of the entire year. Don't play it naive - this kind of behavior is well-known as "dark patterns" and you guys know exactly why you chose this approach.

      It's not a scam. The conditions of the trial are made known to you when you sign up. The 50% early cancellation penalty applies to anyone who cancels their annual subscription before the year is up, regardless of whether they enrolled in that subscription after a free trial period. Early cancellation penalties are common for many subscriptions, not just Adobe.
