I have licensed several templates for InDesign and none of them have any styles set up properly. Most of them have separate text boxes for headlines and body copy within the same article. It's a terrible misrepresentation of the "template" to just show images and not indicate what styles have been created in the files. Am I missing something, or do contributors not have to set these files up correctly? They aren't functional at all.

I've attached photos of my latest licensed template. Everything is in a separate text box. There are no styles set. This is a colossal waste of time and money for the person licensing it.

I have indeed also licensed one of those assets, that was completely useless. Even more useless than the example you posted here. I do not really understand, why those templates are contributed on invitation only. I would expect they being of a higher quality.
I suppose you want to report the assets? Please post the ids here, so that @Contributor1 may check the assets and take appropriate action.

I'm just looking for a way to verify that these are actual templates that can be used and not just pretty pictures.

The problem is: you can't know that without licensing. IMHO, it's really a waste of time, and I'm sorry for the few template builder who made a correct job here, to build something usefull.

Hello, I'm sorry for the poor experience here. Abambo is correct, without licensing the template you can't verify these are quality assets. I've reported this to the team that owns the template process and hope to provide an update soon if I get more clarity.

It seems like someone should be verifying they are quality assets before they offer them to the paying customer.

There is a check done before getting it into the database, but my impression is, that the moderators are not looking at good practice, but only if the asset opens without major problems…
