Missing photos

Hi I put a couple of hours into searching for photos last night on my mobile and saved the ones I wanted to my library. It flashed up on my screen that they were saving to library. On desktop today though, only a small number have saved. So I have to put another couple of hours in. Any ideas why this might be happening. I googled and have worked through all the troubleshooting options suggested.

Did you check on your phone if they were there, saved in a library?

Hi thanks so much. It was really strange because when I selected download photo on my mobile, it would say saving to library then would ask if I wanted to download the jpeg too so I selected download. And what happened was that some of them would save to library only and some would save to mobile only. I feel like maybe there are just bugs sometimes? I did see that there can be impacts if your out of storage room so I will look at that too.
