Selling to a client: how to transfer the license

If I create an animation from a Stock Illustration with a free standard license and I want to sell the animation to a client, what do I need to do to transfer the license to the client?

And does the client have to do anything to get the Stock license for the illustrations in the animation?

Thanks in advance.
Marleen.

Thanks a lot for thinking along! But I'm still wondering: don't the client and I have to pay for the free illustrations if I sell the animation?

I'm not sure what you're doing with the asset you licensed. Read carefully here the difference between standard and extended licenses:

free licences are not availabe as an extended licence. If the use falls in this range, you can't use the asset, until it get's a paid asset again. Normally assets are free for a year, if they don't get prolongated.

If you are not transferring the item licensed, but only your work, you technically don't transfer the licence. However, the restrictions in the licence terms are still effective. If your work is an animation, I guess, only the broadcast restrictions are of interest. I would ask the customer to send back a signed form, that they accept the licensing terms from Adobe Stock. If you want to hide your source, you need to make your own licensing terms and let the customer agree on that.

As it is a free asset, the really easiest way is to have the customer licensing the asset. This would allow you to be able to use your free licence for your own use, e.g. for your references… 😉 Free assets don't have a "licence again", so once the client is using the asset, your licence is "burned".
