We Need Modeler for MacOS

Community Beginner ,
Dec 22, 2023 Dec 22, 2023

I think that not having Modeler support for MacOS is a major hole in the 3D pipeline for Mac users. I started the 3D trial for the 3D collection, but I think I'll cancel that subscription until modeling support is available for Mac.

September 2025 and still no Modeler for mac.  NOT CLEAR on the website.  I signed up for a trial Substance subscription and cancelled within 30 minutes when I found this thread.     All the trial literature makes it sound like you get everything....but you don't.   Knda a lie at $60/month when a major piece is missing.  Woudl be like taking Illustrator out of Creative Suite and saying "whoops".

The problem is that the best-in-class 3D modeler out there (some would argue ZBrush) has a UI that makes Photoshop look like the best designed UI of all time.   ZBrush is frankly impenetrable....just zooming and panning is a finger dance with the keys.   Adobe has a chance here, and maybe it's working on Windows, but us creative users on Macs are left out.   Boohoo, sucks for us, take my $600/yr elsewehere.

This discussion is really pretty messed up. The problem isn’t with Adobe or Substance! The problem is with overpriced dumbass Apple, who can’t manage to finally release an affordable and powerful VR headset with proper controls.

Substance Modeler is mainly a voxel-based VIRTUAL REALITY modeling program that can only reach its full potential in VR.

So shut your mouth, stop blaming Adobe, and get yourself a proper and inexpensive Windows gaming PC with a VR headset and you’ll love Substance Modeler!

Everything else is just a crappy compromise..
