I don't know if it is a bug or "by design" but when I open a file in mm it opens in "cm" in Stager.
I know that there is no "Unit" in an OBJ, but we could have dialog box to set the size/unit at the opening, it should be fine...
Step files open at the right scale...

Hello, do you mean size of the document or size of an object?

I mean the unit used in the scene...
If I import an object of 100 mm in the scene I expect it make 100 mm (e.g. 10cm) not 100 cm...
But may be it happens only with OBJ as there is no unit specified in the file...
for FBX and STEP it works...
On the other hand a dialog to orient Y-up or Z-up when importing parts could also be useful 😉

Hey, if you double-click on an empty space of the scene, you will get access to the scene units properties

euh...
how to say that...
Yes indeed, you can change the scene unit, but the issue remains...
when I import an OBJ exported in mm (63.5mm for my object) , it's converted in Stager as if it was in cm...
e.g. in a scene in cm it opens at 63.5 cm tall, and in a scene in mm it opens at 635 mm...
the goal would it be to assign a unit in the "Import Dialog box" as well as Y/Z up orientation option...

My original software is a Cad software.. (Fusion 360 from Autodesk)
The file is exported in mm, but in an OBJ the "unit" is not define literally.
I guess that Dimension and Stager use the values in the file as cm by default.
when using FBX the mm are well converted in cm...
