UV map auto creation by Stager

Hello experts,

I've loaded a FBX untextured into Stager, letting the app to auto create the UV from scratch. The result is so ugly, so I'd like to ask you what is your workflow for UV texturing objects inside or outside Stager.

Thanks!

Anto

Hi @anto.morego! The method described would involve you creating the UV map before importing the model into Stager. Most 3d modeling programs have an editing feature that allows the user to mark seams before unwrapping/creating the UV.

Hi everyone! You can also use the baking tool of Painter and export your 3D model directly in Stager.

Hi @anto.morego! Are you trying to auto UV a complicated mesh? When working with a complex model that requires precise material placement, it is best to hand mark the seams before importing the file into Stager.

Thanks AEllard, mesh is not that complicated, but could be great to try your method.

You mean something different than creating my own UV mapping, right? how can I mark the seems?

Is this object created by other 3d app?

Here is some recomedation for importing objects into Stager. Please try to export obj from Lightwave and then import materials from material panel.

The inaccuracy is more noticeable when you are closer.
