Team Projects - "MISSING ASSET" replacing media in sequences

Working in a Team Project and recently invited a new editor to work in the project. He was able to connect successfully and got into the project no problem. The issue began once he Shared Changes for the first time. When I took his changes all of a sudden "MISSING ASSET" media began populating in my project and replacing certain chunks of media (both video and audio) in certain sequences. They weren't any sequences that he made changes to either, seems to be just random ones. Whats strange is they are treated like offline media, but they don't display a filepath and can't be relinked to anything. Also if you look at the Video or Audio usage for the "MISSING ASSET" it will give you the exact media and timecode it is replacing, like it's teasing you or something. I've attached some screenshots to clarify a bit. Wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this. I appreciate any guidance y'all can give!

This is very strange. I downgraded to Version 24.1 and my Team Project was functioning normally again. Then I opening up computer this moring and it was all a mess again. All media are listed as MISSING ASSETS. File paths are scrambled and incorrect. Premier running incredibly sluggish - beach ball spinning. Regular Premier Projects function fine. Team Projects are a disaster. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes! Same issue and NO idea what happened. All my drives are online, but no way to relink media.

I've run into this problem but now in version 24.2.1 (Build 2). After having trouble with Teams Project, I converted it to a local project and it appeared fine. But then somehow I opened the file up again and all the media in my sequences were replaced by references to "Missing Asset" elements that don't have any paths or filenames so I can't relink them. I actually took a look at the original Team Project and saw the same problem there, so I went back a version to where there weren't missing assets, but as soon as I create a new Team Project from that older version, the "Missing Asset" popped up again. All my sequences are affected.

Has there been any progress on how to solve this?

We've been having similar problems. Team project takes over 20 minutes to open. When it does often all assets are missing. Beach ball spinning. System crashing. Have reinstalled Premier and reset all settings but that didn't help. I used a standard Premier Project backup and created a new Team Project but this too did not solve the problem. The project is just stuck here as seen in the attached screenshot.

Do you also see the 'Missing Assets' or are the assets 'just' offline?

Regarding load performance, in a nutshell - The bigger a project grows the longer it takes to scan project items for changes. Especially, if a project contains large and complex sequences (including several backup copies of them).

To keep the sync/load time as small as possible we recommend working with 'Linked Team Projects'. This lets you split a large Team Project into smaller more manageable projects that only contain relevant sequences and media for current editing needs. It is generally a good idea to keep the number of backup sequence low or ‘park’ them in linked projects - “Linked Team Projects”.

Udo

Hi, sorry for your troubles with Team Projects. Which version of Premiere are you using?
It sounds you don't see the 'Link Media' dialog when opening the Team Project, is that correct?
Are you able to see the missing media in the Media Management dialog [Edit > Team Projects > Media Management...] under 'Offline: Missing Media Mapping'?
Do you mind inviting me to the Team Project [upawlik@adobe.com]?

Best,

Udo

Hi Udo,

Thanks for the response. When I opened the media management window it showed that nothing was Offline, yet all the "MISSING ASSET"s were still there. Since I have posted this I got rid of all the missing assets by replacing the sequences that they were in with backup versions of the sequences that contained all the media. I'm still happy to add you to the project if you'd like to poke around. Let me know!

Thank you but I was able to reproduce in house - It seems both of your recent posts are related. Consolidated duplicates re-appear after re-opening a team project and a collaborator will see 'Missing media' when getting latest changes after someone else 'consolidated duplicates' - We have an engineer looking at this issue.
