I know, Trevor. I enjoy the kind of subtle jokes that just sneak up on you. Dorothy Parker is one of my favorite humorists.

Pretty sad. I play disc golf there quite often.

I've encountered this very question in real life (Vodafone I think) and was beaten by it. I've had lots of favourite pets, and some had their names abbreviated and I couldn't remember if they ended with a 'y' or an 'ie'. I had to call in at the shop to get it reset!

I don't own a pet and nearly locked myself out of my account because I either used a neighbor's pet or put in something I forgot.
Now I use my password manager notes section to record challenge answers.
On the subject of challenge questions, I remember a Gmail owner had his account cracked because he used answers to questions that could be looked up online. Learning from that, I use fictional names, dates, and places, and note them.

Another trick to use when setting up the hint is to not directly answer the hint question, but to provide an answer that would apply to a different question, ie: What is your favorite pet? Answer: Orange

Talking to my cab driver, he gets spam calls from airduct cleaning companies.
He strings them along and says "yes I have 15 ducks, all mallards and they sure could use a cleaning". Then he hangs up.
I guess it takes a special kind to know how to jerk them around.

Hilarious, and I like the way it gets on topic (from an Adobe point of view) at the eight minute point. I have a sneaky feeling that James Veitch sometimes starts threads in the Adobe forums, just to ask daft questions, and then deliberately not understands any of the answers offered by increasingly frustrated posters. The next time I encounter a relentlessly clueless poster, I'm going to offer them a free toaster if they'll go away.
