Font license for use in print

Hi,

Could anyone advise me on licensing for print with Adobe fonts? Our company advertise in major newspapers using their layouts. Do we have the right to publish fonts included in Adobe in print or is this license at an additional cost?

Also, there are certain specific fonts we may need to purchase, for example various styles of Helvetica, Univers and Zapf Dingbats. If we do not own license for these, can we edit documents which include these fonts before they are published, such as InDesign? To be clear, the newspapers who do have the correct license will be publishing them in print.

I can't seem to find these fonts in the UK store, does anyone know roughly the cost in GBP?

Thanks alot for your help.

Assuming that you have a license for a particular font in the Adobe Font Library (i.e., any of the fonts available from Adobe via its website or the Adobe Font Folio product, you are perfectly free to use the font for any print output without any further license and/or royalty as long as you don't send the “lose” font along with your digital assets.

For example, you are fully covered if you submit an advertisement to a newspaper or magazine as a PDF file with fonts embedded. The same is true is you submit advertisements as .EPS files with embedded fonts, although EPS is somewhat technically obsolete in terms of reliable, color managed workflows. And likewise, you can go directly to press with PDF files with embedded fonts. (And of course, the same is true for PostScript files.)

You can license the fonts you mention via the Adobe website.
