I guess I am still trying to figure out who I am... college with major in Fine Arts, production manager for a local newspaper, taught at college in NH, worked for couple of advertising agencies, started my own design business which lasted longer than any of the other attempts. Now at last back to my Fine Art degree and still work with few clients on the design end. Computers entered my business after there were a few apps that promised to speed up the process which was beyond the normal "cut and paste." Adobe was mainly ATM and fonts (remember paying $395.00 for one font)- guess that helps to date me! How things have changed! Like Chuck, I also am a welder as my Masters degree is in sculpture and guess this really says why I am hooked on 3D and the ability to visually travel- thus Ps, Ai, Ae, An mainly and others thrown in! I have always been an intuitive person so delving into Adobe works as long as I can explore on my own and while I understand that there are criteria and certain rules for the process I have to be able to go my own way. The journey with Adobe has been and is awesome and has lead me into roads that I never would have thought but happy to travel. Agree with Brad but wish to add that if you have a backup drive with all your apps and files then you can download from that. I haven't done this directly but have someone that is Mac savvy and that I greatly trust do this. Has always worked for me and I have apps that go back to CS3 that I still need once in-awhile! Totally understand! When in school what programs were you using and which ones were the major influence for you wishing to continue this avenue? My goal here is to expand everyone's awareness of what is available (within Adobes apps) and how this will influence persons such as yourself to delve deeper in this area. There are major apps out there and with hopes that Adobe will step up to the needed desire to explore that incorporates their apps for cross platforming. Bandwidth is a major consideration with Fuse/Mixamo… My aspect for 3D covers many areas so are there other areas that you are interested in? i.e. Ai or Ae-C4D. Having created many, many logos throughout the years there were always a few rules I worked to apply though many times the customer had other conceptions so worked to meet in the middle with reasons as to the why. Simple- yes! With many aspects that logos are used for it needs to be one that can be both color and B&W. With today's realm for advertising one must think of all the possible usages. Color is very subjective and for the most part the client will have very definite ideas on this aspect. Being able to print cmyk and web/internet in rgb since both are visually very different is another key in the thinking... There are certain colors that do not translate very well between the two but if not side by side it can be doable. There are many, many ideas on the question you pose so hopefully others will chime in there are many aspects in the development so one needs to keep a very open mind when developing a logo! ... Have you updated any applications that you use in regard to this or made any changes to your system?
