I navigate to the clip, click on the fx icon on upper left, I select time remapping > speed. I click on a point in the video clip where my ramp begins and ends. I see the handles but cannot manipulate them. The speed control in the effects panel is stuck at 100%. So, I don't see the logic or purpose of this feature. ... View more

I'm removing a lav mic cable that wasn't dressed well on the set. I installed AE 2017 and it is running. I set my sequence to 1 min. (but I'm fixing a 11 minute piece so I'll fix in increments.)  I think I'm ok for now. I'm still on PrPro 2015 but I may dabble with 2017 to see if I can get dynamic link working later. It's not a big deal if I don't. That feature has been iffy for me on a few versions so, I usually avoid using it and just go back and forth between PrPro and AE the old fashioned way. ... View more

Thanks. I think I know what the problem is. Fusion also doesn't work on my PC. I screwed up and updated Windows when I should have just left it alone. I'm going to upgrade to a new HP Workstation, install the Creative Cloud apps, take if offline and never update Windows. Thanks, I just upgraded to 2018 and it opened my 2015 project file just fine. The dynamic link to Aftereffects still doesn't work on the 2018 versions of both PP and AE. This is one of my frustrations with Adobe, touting features that are effectively vaporware. On that note, I'll go down a version and hope that works ... View more

Hi Jim, I'm wondering what version of PP these films were done on? I'm also betting that they had engineers on call and used PP to do the offline but conformed and graded on a higher end platform. My experience is that PP has been very unstable and that has bitten me quite a few times, especially when I'm trying to cut anything over 60 minutes in length. Hence, my source of skepticism as to how pro Premiere Pro really is. That said, I finally found that version 2015.3 works best for me  and so I'm hesitant to update to a newer version, including 2018. Hi Mylenium, I also forget to mention that AE doesn't handle video very well. At first, I tried importing a 10 minute clip but AE crashes. I tried smaller clips. Same result. I'm not sure whey AE is touted as a visual effects software when it cannot process imported video. Abode should dump AE and replace it with a modern platform. Very frustrating. ... View more

Adobe Media Encoder does not always support these formats when editing in and exporting from PP. For example, it won't export sequences or sub-clips in the native source format / codec. I'm doing digital cinema based film work and Premiere Pro / Media Encoder isn't really a pro platform in this regard. It's ok for video work but you really can't do a high end film projects on it. Thanks but I am unable to achieve this as you stated on my version of PS. (I'm using the latest version. Should I go back to a previous version of PS?) I have to save, close and reopen to get out of the 3D mode but when I do, I lose my 3D work. It's gone. I guess I have to export my 3D model and import it back in when I reopen my project? Hi Ann, I forgot about this reply as I found a workaround so please pardon the belated response. Time remapping is not supported on Windows 10  To work around this I take a clip and cut it up into sections so I can change the speed for each section to achieve the desired results.
