I have three different users set up on my Mac (production, testing, and one for doing presentations). I have the CC apps installed at the computer level so they're available to all my users. They all use the same Adobe ID, but the app is set up differently for each user. Other items can be set for each user (for instance, custom find/change queries). If you want a different user to be able to log into their user on the machine and launch ID in their environment, that's easy. Kris from Rorohiko wrote a great javascript for someone at CreativePro Week this past June. It uses GREP to find the string, then plops the found text into a URL. As Cari said (and Srishti linked to), others have had issues with something actually being in the csv file fields. Turning on hidden characters in InDesign might reveal the culprit. Also, it may be in your InDesign setup itself. Others have had issues with tab characters, rogue whitespace characters, or soft returns. Turning on those hidden characters might give you a little insight...then you'll need to track down where the culprit is being introduced. If you only need the outlined text in a resulting PDF, you can create a Transparency Flattener preset, which will convert the text to outlines in the PDF only (leaving your InDesign text as text). Edit > Transparency Flattener Presets > [choose existing set] > Edit. In the box, select Convert All Text to Outlines (choose other settings as well). When exporting to PDF, choose Acrobat 4 (which requires flattening) and under the Advanced pane, choose your new Flattener Preset. This only works if the page with the text you need outlined has transparency, so be sure to have something that is either a transparent object or even that has a drop shadow. If you don't have anything, make a box that is 0% or 1% opaque and put it on the pasteboard (make sure it just barely touches the edge of the page). If not all pages have transparency, you can put this item on a master page (or pages) to be sure all pages have transparency. ... View more

Would a tool like ZoomIt be helpful? It lets you create a loupe effect area (square or round) and lets you set the magnify amount and size of the loupe. Is this for all new documents or existing ones? Whether it's a text wrap or baseline issue, you have to figure out where the default is (all new docs or a current doc?). On the GREP for "…", you can search for the first 30 characters in a paragraph (but this includes spaces), and have it delete everything after and replace with "…" Use ^(.{30}).+ to find the first 30 characters (maybe add more to account for the spaces?) And change to: $1… You are looking for beginning of paragraph, followed by any character thirty times, followed by any character one or more times...replacing with group 1 (which is the bit in parenthesis) and adding "…" Hope that helps one part. ... You could find the first two words (obviously wouldn't work with authors with more that 2 names)...you can make all the found text lowercase, but you'll have to do it semi-manually. Seeing the text makes it easier to find the pattern that fits your document.
