Hi Alex, I loooked into Bolt-CEP but it would mean that I had to translate all the js/jquery code into typescript, which I don't even know how to use, and learn a tons of new things. Moreover, CEP will be replaced by UXP so I'll have to update everything again soon. Since the only issue I have now is with the extension going blank when another extension is closed, I'm wondering if there's any easier option to, let's say, shield my extension. Any ideas? I read this interesting article https://hyperbrew.co/blog/top-2-extendscript-mistakes-and-how-to-avoid-them/ although it doesn't help in protecting my extension from external 'close extension' commands.

Solid/shape + pre-comp: depends if the solid/shape is on top or below. If above fine, below not working. Shape + Solid: fine. It looks like there is an issue with the Precomp. The three precomps are instances of the same and I've used some master properties to change the text. So I guess there is where the issue is. If you swap those precomps wiith other precomps that don't have master properties, it all seems to work fine.

Hi all, I have a composition (with some essential properties that control colors, text and so on..) on which I have applied a bunch of effects in order to create a fake 3d shadow. The last effect on the list is a CC composite. CC composite doesn't update properly. As you can see from the video, the shadow animates as expected but the text and its containing shape don't. If I delete the CC composite effect and then re-apply it, then yes! the animation updates as expected. Hi all, I have a persistent problem which I am not able to solve. I have developed two extensions which now sit on my workspace the whole time. They are separate extensions, they don't communicate with each other. However, I've had a weird issue with one extension sometimes reading the other extension license key instead of its own (but they use different folders!), then returning an alert and loading the extension as if the License Key were wrong (which is correct). I'm not sure what the reason was, but I renamed some jsx functions so they have different names plus I removed the folder object on each jsx file from being a global variable and I've put that into a function instead. It worked but still I don't get why it happened. Anyway, let's move on... There is still one issue going on and I think its related to the problem above. If I close one of these two extensions, it could happen that the other extension panel becomes empty. No buttons, nothing. And the only way at this point is to close the second one too, then reopen both. And this is too weird. The two extensions have different data folders, different names, they listen to different events, all the names in the manifest files are different. Why does that happen? Moreover, if I quit Overlord, which is another extension and not one of mine, it might also cause one of my two extensions to go empty. Any ideas?

Hi Dacia, First of all thank you for replying. It's really appreciated! And yes!, I'm on AE version 23.6. I knew about the ability to set the Font, Font Size, and Faux Styles. However, since these options need to be enabled/checked (first image you uploaded) in order to appear in both the Essential Graphics Panel and the new Props Panel, I expected that the Font, Font Size, and Faux Styles would have been controlled by the Primary comp, no matter what. Real life experience: the client asked for a change in the Faux Style of all text in five animations. I would have expected to go inside the Primary comp, change the font there, then re-export the animations again. I would have spent 10 seconds (plus render time). This way though I had to go through all the instances of that comp, copy the words, push/pull and re-apply the words again. Needless to say, it took longer. As you asked for my feedback, my desired behaviour would be: If the Font, Font Size, and Faux Styles are enabled/visible: current behaviour is fine. If the Font, Font Size, and Faux Styles are NOT enabled/visible: the Font, Font Size, and Faux Styles are always controlled by the Primary comp (even if the words changed). Would it be beneficial to you to be able to Pull / Push only the font but maintain any changes to the words themselves? I would have spent less time, but still not the solution I would go for. If I put the comp1 inside another comp and change the text, it works as expected and looks like this: However if I now change font in the comp1 to look like this: The main comp doesn't update at all. Hi all, I usually edit the volume of a music track by cutting the clip into sections, adding transitions and adjusting each clip volume to the level I want. Although I'd like to edit the track volume, not the clip volume, so if I change the clip I don't have to redo all the job again. Is there any good and easy way to do that other than using the pen tool? I find it very limited...

Hi there, The Dashes property group in a Gradient Stroke or Stroke has 7 child properties: 3 dashes, 3 gaps and 1 offset. They always have 7 even when you are not using them. I'm trying to understand how to know if these properties are actually 'dormant' or actively modifying the stroke (that is if they are also visible in the Dashes group). If I check if they are .active they always are. If I check if they are .enabled they always are. If I check if they are .elided they are not. If I check if they have a value they always have one. So how the hell do I know if they are or are not taken into account?

Please add the option to Reload Footage from the project panel. Example: You have an image sequence in your timeline. You edit the sequence in AE (for example) and re-export, having now a sequence that is 1 second longer. This doesn't update in Premiere, which see there have been changes to the sequence but it doesn't realize it's now longer. You now have to select your sequence in the project panel, click Replace Footage, navigate back to where the sequence is (very annoying) and select it again. Just add an option (like in AE) to reload the footage instead.

Hi all, I can't find a way to set a no fill color / no stroke color on a text layer. I can change the color, but the RGB color doesn't accept an alpha value. I tried with .setApplyFill(false) but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? var mySourceText = layer.property("Source Text");
