I have an image with a lot of white in it.. and white in some of the border part of the image. So I've tried some techniques but can't seem to get a good image with the white still in the image and make it transparent. I've tried a few ways but nothing is looking good (i.e, pen tool - left too much white and looked sloppy, trace image - never got an image at all). Any ideas on how to make this successfully work? I also have access to photoshop and indesign if that works better. Thanks.

I just researched this question by doing searches outside the forum. It looks like you discussed this issue before with other users this summer and this is a bug with Mac users and captivate 2017. I guess they haven't fixed the issue yet? or sent out a patch?

The mouse is moving, and I'm clicking on objects. This all worked before while using Captivate 9. I'm using a iMac. Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.6.

I understand. I just want to have the mouse movement and noise. I have it clicked in the preferences but when I try to use it in any of the modes demo, assessment, training or even custom during software simulation, it's not working. I'm just trying to get the mouse movement and noise to work, hence why I tried in all modes to see if any worked. But none did.

Correct. You can also customize to allow for Mouse to appear. But even with it checked to appear and make noise in these modes, the mouse will not appear. Any ideas why it's not working?

I have the mouse clicked to show location/movement and make clicking sound in demo mode, assessment mode, training mode or even custom mode during software simulation in Captivate 2017 in the Project Preference Recording Mode area. But it will not show up? Any advice how to get the mouse moving/noise activated?

I can switch the modes, but in normal mode you don't see the boxes outlined. It really looks as if it's in preview mode. If you click on a box then the box highlights but you don't see any of them otherwise. When I turn on invisibles all that shows is the paragraph symbols. It's the strangest thing. I don't know why it's stuck in preview. I read something that there was a bug in InDesign 2017 about being stuck in preview mode... is that still there?

I tried what you suggested. I wasn't exactly sure what shortcut commands you were indicating. Is this a minus sign after command and control? command - control - I tried several options, nothing worked. I have gone through the View > Grids/Guides > , then several options of turning guid/guides on/off. It still doesn't bring the document into Normal mode as it states it is in.

I have two different documents open in InDesign CC 2017 on iMac 2017 with OS Sierra. Both documents are set in normal view. One document has all the grid lines showing as should be in normal view. The other document (also in Normal View) is stuck looking like it's in preview view. I've zoomed in/out. Closed/open the document. Checked all settings. The document was fine yesterday. Not today. All I did was open it today. Any thoughts why it's stuck in preview view while set in normal view?

JPG 2000 (Lossless) or JPG (Lossy) or Automatic are the only options that InDesign offers for the compression when Interactive PDF is used to export. So, if you look up these options, one or the other is used or you can select automatic and InDesign will select one for you. As for the Effective Resolution... I'm sure the resolution will be not exceed 300 ppi as I've only seen where it can ever be selected to go to 600 ppi. But the Effective Resolution for all the images are different. I'm not sure about those numbers. But, not of them are around 300. How do you suggest I change the effective resolution on these images? I never had any of these problems until I started using the 2017 version. I thought going up would be an improvement.

I've still not sure why these pictures are blurry. or even why the pictures or logo with text is really blurry. It seems the smaller the image the worse it is. I have to import giant pictures or logos to get clarity. This just doesn't seem right.

I had much smaller pictures but that didn't work. I had to bring in larger pictures to help with resolution.

The photos and logos vary. I just increased the size of the logo, and its a little less blurry but still not as sharp as it used to be with InDesign 2015. The logo is actual 72ppi Effective PPI 7851. Some of the images have 72 ppi or 180 ppi (not sure how to change this) and some of the effective PPI: 2968x1775, 3773x3277 I have a PPI 300, and Effective PPI 7142x3793, and picture is blurry. All these images and logos were fine exporting in 2015? I didn't make any changes except upgrade to 2017.

I'm using InDesign cc2017 now, and after I export in interactive PDF my logo and footer with 11 different interactive pictures are blurry. I've already tried exporting with Compression of JPEG 2000 (Lossless) and increasing the Resolution, but the pictures and logo especially are still blurry. I didn't have these issue with InDesign 2015. Any other thoughts.

Both. We've tried installing CP9 to Sierra OS but will not install. So, wanted to know if CP2017 will work with Sierra OS? I just purchased a new 2017 Mac and need to use Captivate. We have CP 9.0.2.427, and it doesn't install with the new 2017 Mac with Sierra OS. So, I needed to know if Captivate 2017 works with this computer? Thanks

Is Captivate 2017 compatible with El Capitan? Or Sierra? Is Captivate 9.0.2.427 or any version of Captivate 9 compatible with Sierra? Everything I've read indicates no, and all that we've tried has shown failure. Only Captivate 9 products work with El Capitan? Thank you for any information regarding these systems/products.

I've gone to Insert> and there's no Text Animation in the drop down. I've entered Text Animation in the Help> Searchbox... and nothing comes up. I'm just wondering where it's hiding or do I need to import the actual Text Animations? I tried to go to Windows>Properties, but I don't have that either. Thanks,

I'm answering my own question. I was using Audio/Record to/All Slides/Edit/Adjust Volume/Normalize - to get the best volume for the presentation. But that messes up the slides. So, I guess I'll need to figure out a better way to adjust the volume or just go slide by slide.

Seems captivate 9 isn't so friendly with narration audio. I'm back with my next audio issue. I decided to do my audio narration outside of captivate 9 since it was glitchy and had random unexplained audio drops outs with mouse clicks. It also doesn't keep audio silence if you add it, and it's just easier to edit outside of Captivate. I spent a week getting a 10 minute captivate audio/narration presentation done just right. I was going to try and add some background music, but I wanted a second copy. I exported a second copy and renamed the project. When I did that, the audio/narration apparently changed. Now, all the audio has shifted and moved on the slides. How is this possible? All I did was Save as, and rename the captivate presentation. Both copies have the audio shifted and both have the shifts and splits going in middle of words on slides and now gaps in middle of slides! How can I restore my audio/narration? Thanks.

I'm importing the images/photos, closer to the the sizes of the boxes (can't get right on), and the blurry/fuzziness goes away. Thanks.

Hello, I'm not rescaling in captivate. The images are sometimes to large, and I'm resizing down. It's a project with combination slides, software simulation, regular project slides, audio throughout. I've attached the images where the computer screens are blurry, but they're not on the images outside Captivate or the import.
