Hi Jarda, Thanks for Your answer. How do You catch this toolModalStateChanged event? Is this an event? I am getting lost as 1.5 years before when I started to deep dive into "this". I am currently experimenting with generator/socket events, maybe I can get more information out of PS. There is the "Miscellaneous" part at the end of this chapter which is pointing to this C header file : photoshopwindows/PITerminology.h at master · pritianka/photoshopwindows · GitHub I burned 3 hours of desperate trying on this but can't register these 4 char events. It may be impossible to catch these kind of guide movements this way. I am afraid the only solution will be to fetch and parse the guides with jsx every time something is changed in the document DOM. I am using photoshop-connection npm module, which is conversion of a generator script. photoshop-connection When I fetch the document information via socket, I get this: There is a "transform" part! Which is - maybe - useable.

Is there a way to get the current timeline frame number in Frame Animation mode? . I had this same question a while ago. But no real solution exists as I know. If You are in an extension panel, You can listen to JSONEvents from PS. One of these events is SELECT which is mirroring Timeline frame changes: {"_obj":"select","null":{"_index":1,"_ref":"animationFrameClass"}} But You still don't know which is the actual frame when You open or switch to a fresh .psd.

Chrome debugger command line is not working in 54.0.2840.71 m (64-bit) https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=659253 I am using an old Chrome which is not an optimal solution.

Is it happening from ESTK too? My Extension hangs PS 2015.2 every 20th or 30th start attempt. I have to kill PS in Win task manager. Try to comment out the code and put back part by part IMHO.

SuperMerlin, You saved me again. After watching the function closeGroup() step by step in ExtendScript toolkit debugger, I realized the trick is if we "ungroup" and "regroup" the layerSet, it will be created as folded. Nice workaround! Thank You! Oliver

My HTML extension panel listening to JSONEvents, like this SELECT:
{ "eventID": 1936483188, "eventData": {"layerID":[2,97],"makeVisible":false,"null":{"_name":"back1.jpg","_ref":"layer"},"selectionModifier":{"_enum":"selectionModifierType","_value":"addToSelectionContinuous"}}}
In the event handler, the script is storing the selected layer's "layerID"s to an array. How can I select these layers again later by the stored IDs with a .jsx call? Must be simple, but i can't find a way. Is it possible to convert the layer ID to Index? Thanks a lot!

Scripting Photoshop with J… without the Image Asset Generation Plug-in for Generator: https://github.com/adobe-photoshop/generator-assets This asset generator isn't running. Just the vanilla generator-core-master with only one plugin which is the generator-getting-started. In this scenario, if I move a layer without a "valid" extension in it's name, the imageChanged event dispatching only the first time. Until I select another layer, or do something else. While the movements of layers with an asset extension in their names, dispatching the imageChanged event multiple times. I would like to export an .html beside the image assets ( on the fly ), which requires the non-asset layers position.

OMG i got it! The event coming through multiple times only if the moved layer have a .png,.jpg or .gif extension in it's name. It took approximately 4 hours for me to accidentally realize this. My fault, next time i'll study the whole generator-core source first, before asking something.

Hi Matias, Thanks for the Google group address! Do you have any idea what can be an other issue? I have no clue. I am trying to fix this behaviour since hours without success. As I remember the imageChanged event worked fine at first. I was able to print out the strigified document with changing bounds at every cursor keypress. I have tried to install the whole stuff on an other machine. Reinstall the latest nodeJS, redownload the latest generator-core. No success, the event only coming at the first time. I have no clue.... I will ask my friend to check out this problem, because I think its a mysterious virus in my gigabit switch

I decided to upgrade my extension with real time asset exporting, with the help of generator-core. I have installed, configured everyting and dowloaded the: GitHub - adobe-photoshop/generator-getting-started: Adobe Generator Getting Started Tutorial. Scripting Photoshop with J… The generator-getting-started-master is crashing when I try to CTRL+T (transfrom) a layer with the following message: Error trace: TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of null at Generator.handleToolChanged... If I comment the Tool handling out it is working fine. But I have one Question: Why the "imageChanged" event is firing only once when I nudge a layer with the Move tool? It dispatching only at the first cursor key press. Or two: Is there a dedicated forum about generator? Thanks a lot!

What if the community make a new and more complete DOM, using javascript and prototypes? It could use the users big knowledge of the low level PS calls. It could be an open source project, with volunteers committing to it. I imagine a layer object which is containing all the possible properties what PS is know about. It would be able to get and set these automatically with low level calls in the background. A timeline object wich is able to maintain it's frames, frametimes, jump to one its frames, get the number of frames.... A layerSet which is able to recursively walk it's childs and call a function on every child, fold, mark, cache... I am dreaming. Easy to come out with ideas like this, for me whose knowledge is so little.

PS is a half legged giant from the scripting perspective. It's JS DOM seems abadomned since years and the low level scripting "interface" can't be handled by a mortal being. The Script listener plugin don't log the interresting part. BUT it logs the tremendously useful Visual Basic and Applescript instead!

Dear Members, I wish I could detect if an artLayer's content is changed. I am making slight mask modifications with brush, and it would be fine if I could mark the changed layer for later batch export. ps_host_adapter-2.0.js isn't containing an event like that, but states this in the comment: "Provides a set of event types which may be listened for via PSEventAdapter.addEventListener(...)." Which ( i hope ) means that there is a bigger set of events to catch. I was trying to make a huge array from "1000000000" to ""2000000000" to cover all the possible event code strings and register all the "undocumented" events if possible. I turned out was a silly idea: The memory and processor usage went to the sky. I had to kill the process. Any idea? Thanks a lot.

I was searching for this info a while ago without success. The only way what is found is to save the .png and .jpg. Load this file into an <image> tag in a html panel, and copy out it's bitmap information (or something) array. Weird! If You find a way to access pixels from JSX, let me know!
