Do you have the ability to test this PDF on another machine with Acrobat Pro? Can you open it in Reader? If you can share the PDF here, others can try to open it to see how it behaves. Contacting the creator is good advice, but I'd do some local testing first. Dave

Is this a Windows machine? If so, right-click on a PDF in your finder, and choose Open with..., search for Acrobat, and also select the Always open with this app to open .pdf files. In theory, this should register Acrobat as your default PDF handler with your OS. Dave

Is Acrobat the only app that shows as not responding? Every now and again, I find that Chrome is drinking up all sorts of resources for some reason, and it affects how other applications behave. Can you open up your task manager/processes to see what is grabbing your resources? Dave

I may have gotten the dimensions for the doc/print scenario backwards, but the solution should still work - Fit to the selected printer print should reduce or expand the output. Dave

If you have your printer driver set for 8.5 X 11, you should be able to select the Size>Fit feature, and your larger-sized pages will be reduced to fit the printer's defined print area of a page. I find this lang-standing feature of Acrobat indispensable - have been using it regularly for years. I hope this solution fits your need. My best, Dave

Are you able to change the name of the commenter for a single comment? If you can do that successfully, you may then try to click on Make Current Properties Default after right-clicking on that comment. Dave

Visit your preferences and choose Commenting. You should find an option to use your computer login name for your commenting. If this is not enabled, you can input any name you wish, and it should stick for future commenting. It sounds as if someone else may have used their name on your computer to comment - maybe. You can access the properties on an existing comment to change the name of the commenter. (right-click on the comment icon). My best, Dave

This may, or may not address your issue, but there was a time (or 3) when I installed the suite on various machines over time. The mechanics of acknowledging one's subscription to Acrobat is (was?) different than other CC apps. I recall having to run Photoshop before my Acrobat subscription was recognized. Beyond that point, it ran properly. If your installation is new, try running other apps before launching Acrobat. It worked a while back for me. My best, Dave

From Acrobat's print dialog box, you have some pretty flexible options. If you click on the Page Setup button, you could increase the margin there. This should print how you wish, without having to alter the document at all (theoretically). My best, Dave

A few questions - Did you create this PDF? Do you have access to the source (original, pre-PDF) document? Did you perform the OCR? It sure sounds like a scanned/OCRed doc, and you may not have many options. But if you have the source, or pre-OCR version, you may be able to get some better results with a fresh OCR pass using different settings. My best, Dave

A few questions: Did you place the Watermarks there? If so, were they added in Acrobat, or are they present in the source document, and you're trying to pick away at them by editing in Acrobat? Acrobat-created watermarks are easily deleted in the Edit PDF set of tools in Acrobat Pro DC. The more you can tell us, the better the chances of us helping you find a solution. My best, Dave

Interesting. I would have bet that changing the resolution or video settings would change the behavior. Do you have a 2nd monitor on which you could try it (using a different driver, maybe)? I have a similar situation on my work machine, using completely different software that insists on screen capturing a different area than I specify on my secondary monitor, but it works fine on the small laptop screen. I still lean on the notion that it's a video/monitor setting issue, but that's just a guess, of course. Dave

I'd be curious to know if it behaves any better if you have Acrobat Pro running already when trying the PDF Maker (if you didn't). In the past, I have tried to do the same, and the Adobe software wanted to 'phone home' to ensure I was a subscriber, and that seemed to cause a similar issue. Running Acrobat first allowed for the confirmation to happen, and the PDF creation then went smoothly. Dave

Unusual! What I would try is to change your Windows video resolution - maybe just temporarily to see if that changes the behavior. There just may be a very similar setting that you can switch to that will bypass this issue. Good luck, Dave

It may not be quite what you're looking for, but with the Bookmarks panel in focus, tabbing to the Find Current Bookmark button is possible, and the space bar 'presses' the button. I hope this is helpful. Dave

Have you tried opening the file on another computer? If you see your layers in another installation of Acrobat, then you may need to run a Repair Installation. As others have stated, this particular file may not actually have been created with layers transferring over to the PDF. Can you see the Layers panel, and it's blank? Dave

Yes - there are quite a few threads in the forum regarding the yellow-ish background showing up in the past few months. There are scores of "fixes" offered, but I haven't seen an official Adobe fixed-by-update statement (but I may have missed it). I have not had the yellow background issue occur on my computers. Have you explored the Page Labels feature? You may be able to select all pages from your Pages Panel, right-click and choose Page Labels. From there, Initiate a new page ordering scheme that starts at pg 1 and counts upward from there. Not sure if this will address your issue, but might be worth a try. My best, Dave
