Check that the transparency has not been reduced. Also check the blendmode is set to something other than normal. Go Window> Appearence to check this.

The Layer may have been changed to a tempate which is a 50% dim by default. Double click on that Layer in your Layers Palette and uncheck template if it is checked.

Hi, You may have turned that Layer to a template by mistake, which reduces the transparency by 50%. So double click on that Layer on your Layers Palette and uncheck Template if it is checked. Sim

Hi, I my select and refine edges work fine. Whilst Holding down Shift+Cmd and Go, Selection> then Select and Mask to bring up the Refine Edges window. I would say use the Pathfinder Tool, just be sure to: 1) Duplicate the parallel lines and keep them on a separate Layer, lock it... Next select the copied parallel lines and Expand the fill and stroke before using the Pathfinder Minus front function and Minus Back.

Also have look at the Jpegs resolution information by going Image > Image Size. The resolution may well be your best bet to see why the size increased. Just to be sure you you mean size as in scale of image or memory?

Hi, Like Kurt said the Gradient Mesh Tool does not have that feature. The closest Tool to what you are requesting would be the Free Form Gradient tool: https://creativecloud.adobe.com/discover/article/make-it-in-a-minute-freeform-gradients Other than that it's all about taking your time to get the desired finish with the gradient Mesh, I would imagine without having seen a screenshot. Hi, Double click on the Pencil Tool Icon and then play with your settings here to suit your work flow. The pencil Tool works a little different fron the Pen Tool which may be your best bet for tracing. The shortcut for the Pen Tool is P. Thanks, Sim
