ok, one more ? and i'm done. all the vertical images are 485 x 750 and the horizontal ones are 1000 x 647. is it understood that those are always read as w x h ?? if yes, then I'm good to go.

"Each image cannot exceed 2MB in size, and must not exceed pixel dimensions of 1000 pixels wide or 750 pixels high (any resolution will work as long as the pixels and MB guidelines above are followed)." I don't think I'm understanding this correctly. I've been trying to get an exported file to be 1000x750 Haven't been able to. but I think as long as one side is EITHER 1000 or 750 pixels that would correct. Am I right?? thanks.

when I click my name at the top of LR it shows that sync with LR is paused. I'm afraid that if I unpause it then the entire catalog will e synced --YES OR NO? THIS MIGHT BE THE SOURCE OF MY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!! So sorry to take up your time. this was indeed the source of my problem. problem solved. thanks for all your help.

when I click my name at the top of LR it shows that sync with LR is paused. I'm afraid that if I unpause it then the entire catalog will e synced --YES OR NO? THIS MIGHT BE THE SOURCE OF MY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!! I changed location to PHOTOS? because that's where my photos are stored, on an ext drive, not in Pictures. this is what ups up when I click the icon to the left of the synced collectiion this is what I see when I right click the synced collection.

no. as a matter of fact those 3 files in the preference are not the ones that I'm trying to sync. again, after stopping and starting the syncing of that one collection I get the same message "sync later, syncing is currently off"

those files are not in iCloud . I looked under pictures-was that what you wanted me to do? so, I did take the photos out of the collection in ?, restarted LR and then put them back in the collection.

syncing a collection working fine until a few days ago. it's the last 3 files that are not syncing. after stopping and then starting syncing I get the following message. "sync lightroom later. syncing is currently off". when I click "all synced photos", those 3 show up as being synced.

worked like a charm John, thank you. got another ? after having mistakenly started to sync my entire catalog to my iPad, I stopped. if I delete some of those synced images from the iPad will that also delete the images from my catalog on my desktop.

trying to sort files in a collection using "added order". doesn't seem to work. only way to get files sorted by added order is to sort by "edit time". just recently had to go to default settings for catalog. don't know if that makes any difference.

I will try that. I also used Tembo to locate missing files with no luck. the thing I don't understand is how there can be so many missing files. When I bring up a trip to Maine that I took, LR shows about 40 thumbnails. All but 3 are grayed out. And I remember that trip and know that I actually took more than 3 images.

My situation is not exactly the same as the one you reference. Never have grayed out thumbnails on import. Finding these thumbnails from images shot years ago that have been in the catalog for a very long time. you you still think I should continue with your suggestion?

These blank files are nowhere to be found. I've gone through the usual procedures for finding lost or misplaced files with no luck. I do recall there being an option to remove all of them from the catalog. They occurred when I switched to Classic CC. I have lots of them. {Thread renamed by moderator}

ok, so I started using facial recognition without knowing what I was doing. I pulled up a couple of images and tagged them with the appropriate names. Now all the faces that pop up are tagged with those 2 names even tho they belong to other people. Is there a way of undoing what I did?
