ok, here goes. the first print I made was 5 5/8 x 8 5/8. fit perfectly into a mat window of 5 x 8 with image bleeding out to mat window, now I want to put a 1/2" border evenly between image edge and mat window. into cell size I entered 4 1/2 x 7 1/2. the print came out 4 1/2 x 7. i am able to get 1/2" border on left and right but 3/4" top and bottom. the margins are all set to 0. keeping the width at 4 1/2 - even changing the cell size height to 8 1/2 will not produce any longer of an image. lastly - there is a 2" border evenly on all 4 sides. as a last resort I could cut a new ma window but can't understand why I'm having this problem.

matting a digital photo. opening in mat is 5.5 x 8.5. trying to get a 1/2" border evenly on all 4 sides between image and edge of mat window. able to get 2 sides same dimension and top and bottom be the same but cannot get all 4 sides the same. wondering if it's because the image is from a scanned 35 mm neg. thanks. PHOTOS was the name of the original drive. i changed that drive name to PHOTOS1 and made the new drive PHOTOS. tried importing again and everything works ok now. am really afraid that if i mess with the name LR is not going to be able to find it. sending a screenshot to show you that the ? appears both in Finder & LR.

the good news - the catalog on the new drive did back up to the new drive and when i opened it this AM (by clicking the LR icon) it went to the right catalog. the bad news - when i tried to import i got the following error message:

On the advice of a friend I retired my old ext drive containing my catalog and all photos. Before doing so I copied and pasted all of that to a new ext drive. Problem now is that when I click on my current LR icon it directs me to the old ext drive. How do I open the catalog and photos on the new drive??

embarrassed to report that I've actually been using two LR catalogs simultaneously. they are virtually identical but still need to be merged. my ? is whether to merge them first and then upgrade the remaining catalog to LR Classic CC or and i don't even know how to ask if there is a second option.

I'm currently using LR 5, version 5.7. i mistakenly purchased LR CC. I was supposed to purchase the classic CC . in attempting to correct my mistake i signed in to adobe .com to switch plans. but I don't see the option for the classic. can't figure out what i'm missing. i don't want the cloud based program but i do want photoshop in addition to LR.

i'm absolutely fine with doing that. only concern is whether I can turn off the cloud syncing function. know anything about LR crashing. have never experienced it before but it's happening now. any chance that the addition of the classic CC and photoshop could be causing it??

my iMac was purchased in 2012 and the MacBook Air in 2014. Just purchased LR CC and love the ability to edit on both computers. However, there is a big difference in the way the same image looks when viewing on both monitors. The MacBook Air monitor shows a much more vivid and brighter image than the iMac . I can adjust the brightness on the iMac but what about the vividness?? I did calibrate the iMac display and that made things a little better but still not the same quality. if I can't get them to be equal then what's the point of having the cloud sharing.

i'm getting correct height (14") but the width is only 9". Can't get any wider. I'm using single image/contact sheet. In layout, under cell size am putting in desired height and width. When I choose custom package it prints borderless but I can't figure out how to adjust dimensions to 11 x 14. Thank you.
