Am I understanding you right here. You don't want RH to use the CPD database which is an integral part of RH, instead you want it to talk to an SQL server database? That's called re-engineering the product and would breach the licence, if you could indeed hack the program to do that. Let's look at other options. First you could try deleting the database and letting RH create a new one. Click here. Obviously heed the warnings and back up first. That will have the effect of compacting the database. When you say you are getting the same error, do you mean just the wrong bullet or you also get the rhfontset.apj message? Have you tried using a different style sheet to test whether that gives the same problem? Take a copy of the project using Windows Explorer and in the copy go to the topic list. Select all the topics and right click. Select Properties and you can apply the supplied style sheets. Also test one of the supplied projects. Problem is that some people report what is there does not work for them and then we don't hear back as to how they did resolve it. I cannot believe they do not so it gets frustrating as when the next person along, like you, asks we have nothing further to offer. Please try what is there and post back how you get on, either way. When you post back, please confirm that your Word Normal template is on your hard disk and that your project and target output folder are also on your hard disk. Yes it is about hanging indents. Go to the end of a list that has been created from a Word import and hit enter. If the appearance concerns you to the level you describe here then not having true bullets will give you an even bigger problem. ... View more

It's not the download that needs admin rights, it is the installation of what you downloaded. Is your PC part of a network controlled by an IT administrator or is this your own PC and your login has admin rights? Is the project on your hard disk and are you generating the printed document to your hard disk? If no to either, change that. Otherwise try starting again with a single topic project. What you have done does not actually enable the macros, it simply updates the templates so that you have the right macros. Open Word and go to Tools | Options | Security and click Macro Security. You need to identify the problem by working on one topic. You might be able to identify a way of using a multi file find and replace tool to get rid of an embedded style sheet. Correcting inline styles will be a bit more difficult. It's easy to find and replace the opening tags as they will be more or less unique but the closing tags that you need to remove will be the same tags as ones you don't want to remove. Hi Em (or should that be Em space?) Can I just confirm that you are preparing documents in Word and then handing them over to someone to import into RH HTML? Is that the only option as importing Word docs into RH is notoriously fraught with problems? Did you look at the topics on my site about that? If Word is the only option, I wonder if Dreamweaver is available to you? If it is import the document into that as DW writes very clean code and does not create an embedded stylesheet in the same way as RH. Therefore once your document is in Dreamweaver it will look wrong until you apply a stylesheet. In your case you would save the html file in Dreamweaver, import it into RH and then apply the stylesheet. That may have less impact and give you a RH topic that is more inline with your Word original. I have tried the importing into DW part and it does give clean code. ... View more

If anyone following this thread has to generate printed documentation from RH, then be aware that problems may arise. If you change the appearance of ordered and unordered (numbered and bulleted), you need to test thoroughly what happens when you generate the printed version. Look under Mapping to Different Styles in this topic. Click here. To be honest that topic needs to be retitled and rewritten to make it clearer. It's a topic I sort of abandoned before I had completed it. The key point is that if you change things so that the indents are different when you use the bullet icon, you will probably be OK. If you created additional styles, they may be beautiful online but don't rely on the same appearance coming through in Word. Test early and if it works, great. A lot of us though leave generating the printed version until last and if you find out then that it does not work properly, you might not have much time to sort it out. ... View more

Welcome to the forum. Fyeq, you are going to have to tell us a bit more. You refer to"Script" which could mean some javascript. The rest of your post though suggests that you have defined styles in a css file but they are being overridden. If that is the problem, then either an inline style or an embedded style sheet is overriding what is in your css file. How many topics are you talking about that need the inline styles removed? ... Once upon a time webhelps and chms roamed the earth freely. They looked much the same and did much the same things but webhelps were more attractive as they had beautiful skins. Then bad men came along and they were known as hackers. Natural instincts took over and webhelps decided they would be safe as long as they didn't try to live in dwellings known as PCs. They could visit but they could not stay. The chms thought about this and decided they would survive better if they only lived in these dwellings. However, they had to pay a price for this protection. It was deemed that they had to continue to live without skins. For a while this was OK but then some well meaning people wanted to allow webhelps to live in the dwellings and others wanted to give chms the freedom to roam to other PCs. It was thought by some people though that this was playing with nature and they became known as systems administrators. The well meaning people did find ways to do what they wanted but some of the systems administrators got very angry about this. They devised various punishments and sometimes they would not do business with these people ever again. Tabfoxx: I have dressed this up as a story. Probably will work but may also show up if user selects the text or prints it (if they print on coloured paper). May also confuse the hell out of whoever takes over from you in time. Is that box selected in the first page of the wizard? I believe it is generally regarded as unnecessary to check output files in and out but will leave someone else to confirm that. ... View more
