Missed that, if using CS6 make sure to update it to the latest version. If i remember correctly it was fixed in the latest version of CS6.

To start with, go to Sequence > Sequence Settings and un-check "Composite in Linear Color" and click OK. This will stop transitions to fade up/fade too fast and you will get smoother transitions. Don´t ask me why Adobe never fixes this.

It seems that the Pixel Aspect Ratio of the source video is interpreted incorrectly by Premiere Pro, thus the distorted image and the black bars. The screenshot Ann asks for would be great.

But when I play the burned DVD on my TV (or on other computers), the canned music is always way too loud or too low. If I go back and play the music on the Premiere Pro timeline it always sound perfect. It seems like you are outputting your audio to 5.1 but monitor in stereo when you edit, or vice versa. Am i right? I have seen similar issues when it comes to 5.1 played back on stereo systems or 5.1 systems when there has been a mismatch between how Premiere Pro outputs 5.1 audio vs how the receiver expect the 5.1 signal to be delivered.

None of the new Dynamics filter nor the new Multiband Compressor is as good as a dedicated limiter. I just filed a Feature Request and requested the Premiere Pro Team to add the Hard Limiter from Audition to Premiere Pro and urge you to do the same. We need a dedicated limiter in Premiere Pro and not filters that either lower the audio too much or add artifacts in the audio such as "pumping" audio and even distortion. Hard Limiter works perfect and having it inside Premiere Pro would be great since using Audition is not always ideal for every project. File your request here: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

For the best results quality wise and to take advantage of vector graphics in your .ai files, use After Effects. Premiere Pro supports .ai files, but the support has over the years proved to be really bad. After Effects really shine when working with .ai files.

I looked at you video and it seems to work as it should. If you have video on the timeline you can only move the time indicator one (1) frame at a time and that´s exactly what you do. You have zoomed in the timeline very much. You can set the timeline to "Show Audio Time Units" but it won´t change the fact that video can only be cut in whole frames. So what you see is not related to Snapping at all. For example, if you use the left/right arrow key on your keyboard you will notice than one (1) press will move the time indicator one frame, not six frames.

Every menu i make for DVD or Blu-ray are animated in some way and i use After Effects, render out as QT Animation, encode the files to the correct format in Media Encoder. Highlights are made in Photoshop. There are lot´s of tutorials on how to animate things in After Effects on YouTube.

OK so I've tried with differents setups and it seems that this is only affecting Windows users I am using Windows and it has not changed here. I would go for a un-installation including deleting the Preferences, and then re-installing Premiere Pro CC2017 to see if that solves the problem for you. I am using Windows Pro 10 English version, English version of Premiere Pro CC2017, Swedish keyboard and input laguage. So it can be a language issue, iow French version of Windows, French version of Premiere Pro and a AZERTY-keyboard layot instead of QWERTY-layout on your physical keyboard. It may be a long shot, it may be not. I remeber for a couple of years ago some bugs that only happened if i used a Swedish version of Windows. So it may sound wierd, but can be even wierder in real life. Go to Feature Request/Bug Report Form and file a bug report and add the language of Windows/Premiere Pro and keyboard.

I see them here, when i close all timelines. (See the attached image) If you cant see them i would recommend you to uninstall Pr CC2017 and re-install it to get all bits in place.

How to assign a custom keyboard shortcut to the timeline in Premiere Pro CC2017: 1. Close all open timelines. 2. Go to Edit > Keyboard Customization 3. Change the shortcut to the one you want. 4. Click OK. 5. Done. If one or more timeline/s is open it´s impossible to set a keyboard shortcut to either Timeline, Source Monitor and Program Monitor. Closing all timelines solves this until Adobe fix this issue, if they do.

Good point: dvd 4/3 is 36 and widescreen 18. Blueray is 18 also. You can have 100 chapters in a DVD or a Blu-ray, the first default included. The numbers you refer to are the number of buttons on a DVD/Blu-ray menu. (DVD 4:3=36 buttons, DVD 16:9=18 buttons, Blu-ray=32 buttons)

"Can you say you see the chapter markers in your exported file?" Yes i can and that´s what i have been saying since my very first post but for some unknown reason you cannot get that. I then asked for a screen dump of you export settings but for yet another unknown reason you failed to get that as well and has not yet posted that screen dump. I know the answer for "Some markers could not be legalized into DVD chapters" and how to solve it for you but since you seem to be unable to get it i don´t. I was willing to help but not anymore cause you have an attitude problem you need to deal with.

Then i have no idea what the problem can be. Hopefully someone with a French installation of Premiere Pro can assist you. Or, double click on R in the lower left in the window and re-assign the key to V.

The keyboard layout i see is neither a Mac nor a PC keyboard. (No Command key, no Win key.) For me the default shortcut to the Selection Tool was V. Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and make sure that the Keyboard Layout Preset is set to Adobe Premiere Pro Default.

It works for me. I have a keyboard shortcut assigned to Add Chapter Marker, so make sure that you are using Add Chapter Marker instead of Marker.

I had the identical problem earlier today and it was solved by a really fine support rep: it's not a bug, it's a safety feature I wonder what they are trying to protect us from by this "safety feature"? What´s next?: "You cannot save projects unless you close all timelines, it´s a safety featre that protects you from saving unwanted edits."

Yes, it seems to be a bug. I have the very same problem with all keyboard shortcuts assigned to non-US keys. I use a Swedish keyboard and all pre-mapped shortcuts to the å, ä and ö keys do not work. But, if you go into the Keyboard Shortcut dialog and re-map them to the same key it works. (Yes, to the same key...) For Example: I cannot use the pre-mapped key ö to "Maximize or Restore Frame Under Cursor" that i could have for years. If i go into the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog and re-map it to the same key it works. Note that if it is pre-mapped to ö it will now be mapped to Ö and not to ö though it is the same key.

Then Premiere Pro launches and ask me to convert the project file as usual. But since this is a large project i want to create a new project in CC2017 and then import the old project into a new CC2017 project. That has over time proved to be the best way to open old projects. I tried to do a screen recording of the issue yesterday and then it worked...

I did a test and found out this: If i re-install Premiere Pro and open the Keyboad Shortcuts dialog i can see Timelines as an option in a new empty project and can see that the current command is Shift+3. If i then import one (1) clip into the project, create a timeline, place the media on it and open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog the option to re-map Timelines are gone. Bottom line: Once one or more timelines are open in the timeline pane the option to manually re-map the keyboard shortcut disappears from the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. Close all open timelines and the option should be back again in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. But, you can not map it to any key. I can map the alpha numeric 1 on to open the Project panel. I cannot any more map the alpha numeric 3 to open the Timeline. The the alpha numeric 3 worked on all Pre CC2017 versions and i have used that key for years. (I can map the alpha numeric 3, but it dont work for the Timeline.) However, i am still is surprised that such a bug that has proven to be so easy to find left the beta phase. I can´t even use the keyboard shortcut for Extract without re-mapping it. I use Extract many, many times per/day...

Kevin, don´t get me wrong here but i don´t think you understand the problem: If i use the "Adobe Premiere Pro Default" keyboard set i can use Shift+1 to go to the Project panel and Shift+3 to go to the Timeline. I can re-map "Project" in the Keyboard Shortcut dialog from Shift+1 to let´s say 1. However, i cannot find, nor re-map, the shortcut (Shift+3) to the Timeline. That´s one of the problems, some panels you can re-assign new keyboard shortcuts to while you cannot with Program Monitor, Source Monitor and Timeline. To me it´s a bug and not a feature missing since one cannot map some panels while one can map other panels. This was not the case with Pre CC2017 versions of Premiere Pro and that´s why it brakes peoples workflows. There are other issues as well, read post #3 in this thread.

I have a project that is +5 Mb and i cannot import that project into Pr CC2017. I get the import dialog but once i select the project file and click OK nothing happens. The Project panel says "Import media to start". Smaller projects seems to import fine. Does anyone else see the same issues, iow problems with importing old projects? The project is created in CC2015, Windows 10. Cannot import it into CC2017, Windows 10.

I see similar issues as well. I cannot manually map keyboard commands to Program Monitor, Source Monitor and Timeline. Several keyboard shortcuts such as Extract dont work out-of-the-box without re-mapping them. Sometimes one must re-map twice for the change to take effect. When re-sizing the keyboard shortcut dialog the new size do not stick and is reset to it´s default size next time the window in opened. Very frustrating. It´s a miracle that this new keyboard shortcut left the beta without those basic issues fixed. Sorry, i have no solution for you, i can just confirm that there are issues.

Your thought processes are almost correct. Shoot 60fps and edit 25fps. No, i disagree. BD-disc's handle 720p60 in PAL contry and converting the material will only lead to loss of time and quality with no gain at all. For slow motion use either Interpret Footage or Clip Speed / Duration. To JacquesBak: Try both methods and see what looks best.
