It can be done with a script, but I think you can also do it with the built-in commands. There's a command to show/hide fields and there's a command to execute a menu item, where you can select File - Save As.

You can add your own "Save Flat Version" button (or something like that) to the file, that hides those fields and then prompts the user to save it.

It's not possible to export an Excel file from a PDF. If they have Acrobat it is possible to export the form data as a plain-text file, though, which Excel can then open. It's not possible if they have just the free Reader.

[I've moving your question to the Acrobat PDF Forms forum] If you open the file you created and selected the Replace Pages command and then the other file you'll get a new copy of the latter, with the form fields. However, it sounds like you want the data in those files to automatically be populated into your form fields. That's not going to happen.

Unless this feature is a must-have for you, I would advice against using LCD to create your forms. It's much more complicated to create than an Acrobat form and much less universal. It won't work on any mobile devices, for example. Also, you would need to purchase LCD separately, which can be quite expensive.

It happens because the fields in your fields have the same name, so when you combine the files they all automatically have the same value. You can only fix it by renaming the fields (before merging the files) or by flattening them, converting them to static content.

LCD is not available for Mac computers, nor is it a part of Acrobat (any more). You can create form fields in Acrobat. Not sure what you mean by "subforms", exactly, but you can't create dynamically expanding fields, no.

OK. Let's say the name of the radio-button group is "Radio1", the export value of that field is "3", the name of the sub-total is "SubTotal" and the tax rate is 16%. Can you describe the full situation, please? Do you mean that you have something like a sub-total and a tax field, and the tax field should only be populated if that specific button is selected? Should it be zero otherwise?

Both options should have worked. What does "didn't work" mean, exactly? Did you get no results at all? The wrong results? Were there any error messages in the JS Console? Generally speaking I would recommend that you use a custom script instead of the Simple Field Notation option for such complex calculations. It provides much greater control and better error messages in case something goes wrong.

The error message suggests that you're trying to rename two fields of different types with the same name. That is not possible. Are you sure the fields you're renaming are from the same type? Also, I would recommend creating the fields only in Acrobat, not in InDesign.

There is no such update. You can do it using a script (Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Combine PDF Files in Numeric Order ) or a stand-alone tool (Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Merge PDF Files in True Numeric Order ), though.

Does the user have full read/write permissions for this file (and the folder where it's located)? Also, make sure that you disable the Preview option in Windows Explorer.

This command will overwrite any existing files by default. You don't need to add anything for it to do that.
