I fixed that portion, the field is renamed as "LoanType" in the document so it's no longer giving an error for the field name. The problem now is the second half of the formula is not returning the "N/A" like the script is intending.

> In theory if you sign out from Adobe via Help -> Sign Out it should deactivate ALL Adobe products.
No, that's not the case. If you deactivate Acrobat it doesn't deactivate anything else, or vice versa.

By same issue, do you mean that you are trying to call a JavaScript function that does not exist in the Acrobat API?
If not, then please be more specific.

The correct answer is to choose "Edit->Text" and then just edit the fields you need to change.

It works in Reader but you have errors in the calculation script when used with Reader. layers[i].initState can't be used in Reader. Remove all instances and it should work.

Thanks! I ended up using Math.ciel() to get the rounded up value and it seems to work just as well. Thanks again!

Acrobat Reader is free. You don't need any "keys" to use it.

I totally agree with you, but the strange thing is that the script works! See attached file.
Do you know if event.commitKey only work in Custom format script as the example of the api reference. I did some tests and yes apparently.
Thanks

old post, but as a suggestion, use the searchable image output option. Usually you are just wanting to be able to search the document anyway. If you really need the covert to editable text/images option you'll just have to wait. I've heard that searchable image option has more accurate ocr over the editable text/image option, but i've never tested it.

Hi there,
Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.
Could you confirm if this issue is occurring with a specific PDF file or with all PDFs? Please try opening a different PDF file and check if the problem persists. This will help us determine whether the issue is file-specific or a broader application concern.
Additionally, ensure that your Acrobat application is updated to the latest version 25.01.20428. You can check for updates by navigating to Help > Check for Updates. After updating, please restart your computer and see if the issue persists.
Since you mentioned that you've already tried using Recognize Text (OCR) but are still facing the issue, it indicates that text is already present but not functioning as expected. To investigate further, please share the affected PDF file with us. This will allow us to test it on our end and provide more precise troubleshooting steps.

The best way to detect a non-compliant viewer is to place a visual obstruction over the pages in the PDF. Maybe hide all the fields as well. Then use a document level script to remove the visual obstruction and show the fields. If the viewer is non-compliant the code won't run, or won't run correctly, and the obstruction will remain.

I just encountered the same problem. I also tried adding an image with text and the test in the image didn't show up either. I was attempting to creat a new PDF not editing an existing PDF. The original post with this problem is from April 6, 2020. Today is March 7, 2024. In one month it will have been FOUR YEARS and no fix from Adobe. How?? - is this still a problem that hasn't been fixed? Four. Years.

Hello!
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response.
Yes, you need to uncheck the two options available under Preferences. For detailed information on how to select or deselect these preferences, please refer to this article: https://adobe.ly/43oNEsv

Hi @catia_4413,
Thank you for reaching out.
As experts rightly said, this can't be trusted. We no longer have EOL product downloads available publicly; people who have purchased the product can access download links from their account.
Also, we can report such website here: https://adobe.ly/3F3niCf

The application(s) being used on those machines to view the PDF file are the most likely culprit.
Make sure to download the file and open it in Adobe Reader (or Acrobat), not inside a browser window or using third-party apps, like Apple Preview.

Hi @RukeLussett
Thanks for reaching out with your question. If you have a test machine, try installing the Adobe Reader freeware app at https://adobe.ly/3XynakB for testing purposes. Don't sign in to the app. Test the form and share your observations.
Note: We are now offering a unified installer, if you sign in with Adobe ID and have an active Acrobat subscription the Reader will turn into Acrobat

Cee Bee Dee: I am completely self taught and consider myself not an expert but I do have vast experience using the full version of Acrobat, creating fields etc. and using the functions inside Acrobat. Your problem must be something either so simple or so complex that substantial reading online is unlikely to help. My suggestion is that you start by opening acrobat and creating a blank pdf file and save it as _____. Close the file. Close Acrobat. Go to the file itself and double click and open it. Then not using the prepare form function just create a couple of text fields naming them as you choose. Type something in the fields. Save it as _____. Then close the file. From still within Acrobat, from the file menu, click file open and open the file you just saved and see if your fields are present. If you can sucessfully do this, then click file open and open the pdf file you created from word and now do prepare fields. Go slow and read every step. If you do not save a document, Acrobat does not just close it. Instead, it asks if you want to save it. If you still have a problem, find someone who also has Acrobat and can get on the phone with you and do it together or even better, record the screen as you are working in Acrobat and save it as a video for someone to review.
