This is a setting of the files you are opening. Ask the client to not set it like that when they create the files.

You can't. If the author of the file locked it when they signed it and didn't add additional signature fields then you can't sign it yourself. Report this issue to them.

No, unless you copy and paste a field multiple times. To rename existing fields you would need to use a script, but even then some information will be lost (basically all actions associated with it). There's no need to do that. A digital signature applies to the entire file as a whole, even if it only appears on a single page of it.

So are the files currently separated, with 500 matching pages in each one? The files that are 1KB are corrupt and can be removed. The other ones have a reasonable file-size, but it's very hard to know what's going on under the hood without seeing a sample file... First thing to try, though, is to copy them to the local machine and open them from there. If that doesn't work, try opening them in a plain-text editor (like Notepad) and look at the first line. What does it show?

It doesn't look like you right-clicked a Signature field, but something else (possibly just an empty spot on the page). But either way with that attitude I'm not really inclined to help you any further. Good luck with your problem.

What they told is you blatantly wrong. Every math formula that works in Acrobat should also work in Reader. Only things like extracting pages and stuff like that won't work there. Did you test it on a mobile device, though, or on a regular PC? Unfortunately, many scripts won't work on the former, regardless of it being Acrobat or Reader. Third-party viewers are a completely different question. You can't guarantee it will work in them, at all.

Yes, you can do it with the Action Wizard. Create an Action with the Insert Page command, set the options to insert your cover page as the first page, and then add a Save command and run it on your other files.
