Lol! Yes I guess that would cause me some issue too. Hopefully V2 will work. Otherwise you can download a trial version of ColorThink Pro Then use the Medic section and see of your software is providing good profiles or not. You may need to reinstall your software or update it.

If your assuming that non-color managed sections of your OS should look better, or different, I'd say that's not something to worry about. If their not color managed, don't list them in your problem statement. Color management works in color managed areas.

It is American slang from my childhood because young boys do gross things and compete over anything. It takes the word Spit and adds the extra letters for when someone launches said spit and accomplishes a great distance before it lands. The competition usually includes the word Spitioui as loud as possible for added distance during the spitting competition. Good clean fun in my neighborhood. So now you see the further meaning in the splashes 😉

Thanks for your kind words, Trevor! The image was darkened overall, and Yes all the highlights were added for the new light sources. Always after I do one of the quick illustrations, I think I should have taken more time, and added the window reflections as well. At some point the post becomes uneditable and well that's when I had a chance to review it.

Just a comment after running a Pantone color workflow Post Adobe support. Opening and saving any file not has many warnings to clear before you can actually complete the process of editing and saving. I do understand that at first these warnings are important, but let's give the user the ability to turn them off Please!

Actions are all saved just back them up as I mentioned above. Back up whatever you need to keep. I personally do not use alot of custom prefs, mostly in the way tools operate so I'm used to putting those back on new versions and beta versions. Back them all up and you are ready to start this process. No reason to remove when you can simply copy the folders.

Try using the Adobe CC cleaner tool
Uninstall all of the versions (Back up your important presets an such first. Then run the CC cleaner tool and reinstall your Adobe software. That should take care of the problem.

One thing to note is that Hexidecimal numbers were created for use in describing colors for Web use and that is the color space these colors refer to. So for the Web and Hexidecimal numbers both assume sRGB since that is the internets standard colorspace. So from that respect only Adobe color is color managed. Using Lab color isusually safe, but only if creating your srt in 16 bit color. 8 bit Lab space is not smooth and will not produce excellent results as a basis for creating art. Use 16 bit and you will not have problems.

As Kevin mentions you can use the magis want tool or you can select Color range. Both may also select the detail or omit hem from your selection. You can edit your selection by smoothing to remove details. Then set your history brush to "Non Linear History and select the smoothed selection in your history pallet, then move backward in history to the place where the selection was more accurate and carefully brush in the areas where you have removed the unwanted details.

What you will need to keep going are the .acb files. I found copies on the web last year and keep them on a server for those ocasions when Adobe decides to keep deleting the old ones when installing new software. place those in the appropriate folder for your application and everything works correctly, with the new Adobe warnings that the files won't display properly (Photoshop) if the Swatchbook must actually be entered as a swatch. This will take care of the problem for now and hopefully Adobe won't decide to get more agressive with their compatibility.

Regardless of Andrew's cynical approach, the method I've outlined will get you there or close as I mentioned. I work for an award winning G7 color space printer who regularly cuts that industry standard in half. So the good printers are out there. Good luck

The proper way to make this work is if your uncoated printing was at a standard. The uncoated standard in the US is CRPC3 in Europe Fogra 47. If the uncoated work you're trying to match was printed to one of those standards you will be able to match that on coated printing by opening the image in Photoshop and assigning one of those 2 profiles above. Then convert to the coated profile standard your printer is using. There are many standards for that but Sheetfed Offset coated in the USA is CRPC6 and in europe it's Fogra 51. This will keep the color apperance of the first profile (uncoated printing) and allow you to either get closer or match that on coated papers.
