Hi guys, I know there must be a few, but I turn to you for your recommendations about which you found to be the best (that communicate best) and which teach the most in terms of refinements and the full capabilities of LR in these 2 realms. I am not talking about beauty shots or trick shots - although the tools are the same, but adjustments to street photography images when I'm not in total control of events and/or exposure, toward making museum quality prints. I prefer staying away from Photoshop for now to keep my files smaller. I'll tackle Photoshop later, when I've exhausted all that LR has to offer. And I realize I may have to turn to more than one LR tutorial to get the full picture. Thanks a lot, Raphael

Hi guys, A photo site's call for work requested the work to be submitted as jpg compression 8 and hi-quality. I couldn't find a compression adjustment, nor could I move the quality slider because it was greyed out. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, Raphael

Thank you Laura. Following these discussions I deleted all but 4 cat files. One good thing done. And yet the same alert appears as you pointed out. Hello Apple/Adobe! I do have another question to ask but ... later because I am dying to go back to my book "The Art of Rivalry" - Matisse vs Picasso, Lucian Freud vs Francis Bacon, etc. More to come. It's re: files I can't delete.

I meant: once I've received the right information from you guys and deleted everything but the most recent 3-4 backups, I can go back to backing up as usual, never keeping more than 3-4 of the previous backups. Correct? I back up cat files automatically every time LR closes. But the one thing I need first is an answer to the question I asked of Mike in my previous message: we are talking about deleting this kind of file "Lightroom Catalog.lrcat.zip", right?

Hi guys, When I tried to close LR - backing up the LR Cat files in the process, I got the following: I removed my external drive for these backups and tried to close LR again. The same alert re-appeared and I had no option but to click Continue, but in the end LR closed without the files being backed up. I read their explanations in Learn More which meant nothing to me - too technical. What's going on and what now? - in plain English, please. Thanks a lot. Raphael

Hi guys, Having renamed a file I sometimes need to find out the original file name so as not to delete its master by mistake - if the renamed file is a copy, or if it's a master to a copy used elsewhere. I think you get my point. Thanks a lot, Raphael
