I doubt it and using your workaround is flat out dangerous. You could very lose some work. That's why that dll was dropped in the first place. If you want PSD thumbnails, use Bridge. Bob

Then there's not much anyone else can offer you. You've been told it's a Microsoft issue. Microsoft has issued a fix. There are issues on the Mac side with Leopard and the same thing is going on over there. "It's only InDesign so it must be Adobe's problem." The only difference is that Microsoft has fixed the issue and Apple is "still working on it." At some point, that hotfix MS issued will be rolled out in a Windows Update anyway. You might just as well do it now. Bob

The way I used to test this out was to create text in Word or Excel and then place the text into InDesign which can handle all of those different weights.
