You're most likely running into issues with the HEVC codec, as discussed in this thread. https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-elements-discussions/video-codex-galaxy-23-ultra-reading/m-p/14237478#M48190 Try setting your phone to record standard 1920x1080 H.264 video and see if you get better results.

I agree with Ann. The program is struggling with your file specs. As an experiment, trying setting your phone's camera to shoot Non-HEVC video (use standard H.264 settings instead) and see if you get different results.

Most likely Premiere Elements is struggling with some aspect of your video. Open your Samsung video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text of this entire report and paste it to this forum. With this detailed report we'll better be able to figure out what's causing the problems.

What model of camcorder is your video coming from? Open your video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and the copy the entire text of this report and paste it to this forum. With this added information we'll better be able to advise you how to proceed.

It might also be helpful if you could upload one of your problematic clips to a site like Dropbox, where we'd have access to it. (Don't use YouTube or Vimeo. We need the original file.) Then we can see if we have better luck running the Auto Analyzer on it.

That's very strange, Red. The M2TS files that that camcorder produces should flow easily through the program. Is your project set up to match this 1920x1080 video? When you add the video to your timeline, is there a yellow, orange and red line above it?

You're talking about in the Elements Organizer? This is an indication that the connection between the Organizer and your files has been broken. Either your files have been moved or removed or the directory name has changed (which can happen if your files are on an external drive). Where are these ? files located?

The red screen you describe is not a 'red screen of death'. It's an indication that your project has lost a link to your video clips. This can happen because the clips have been moved or because the device where the video is has been moved. Is your video on your computer's hard drive?

Where is your video originating from and what format and resolution is it? This should not and usually does not happen. Do you get the same results if you select a clip and press the Backspace button on your keyboard?

There is no audio effect for combining channels in Premiere Elements. However, you can create a custome output that will combine the channels when you Export & Share your movie. In Export & Share, under Devices, select Custom and click Advanced Settings. Leave the Format at H. 264 and the click the Audio tab about halfway down the panel. Under Basic Audio Settings, set Channels from Stereo to Mono. Once you save and name this preset, you can use it for any future projects.

You still haven't told us if you're working in Premiere Elements (the video editor) or Photoshop Elements (the photo editor). There is no program called Elements, and there's a big difference between working with RAW files in the two.

Try going to the nVidia or AMD site and downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card. Don't trust Windows Update to do it. You'll be surprised how often this fixes this problem.
