Funny... we're having this same exact problem. And you're saying PS is still writing to the disk? Even if no files are open in it? We have no external disks in play. And it's funny how this same problem happens with PS 2015. Any other ideas? We can't even kill the process in Activity Monitor. Doesn't show up. Nothing Photoshop related is listed under all processes. We have to force a shutdown of the computer because a restart fails to execute. ... View more

We're having the same problem. I have users who can't force quit Photoshop. 2015 and now 2017. And its not showing up in Activity Monitor to kill it either. We have to FORCE a shut down on the workstation. Anyone know what's causing this? ... View more

It was Acrobat DC causing all the headaches. If it already exists on the machine, uninstall it from the uninstaller within the DC folder. Then restart. Try install again. ... View more

Holy cow! You'd think these guys had it together! Funny you should ask about RUM. I just started using it and so far so good. But these particular machines I'm having trouble with per the initial screenshot above, I haven't tried running RUM against them. But I will. Let me know if you need help setting RUM up. Hi! Sorry, We are in El Capitan and we are not seeing a /usr/local/bin directory. Did this change in El Cap? where should we place this RemoteUpdateManager unix file?
