I think this may be a different issue, probably you need to contact the person (administrator) from the university and they in turn take it up with Adobe Support.

Hi, I'm assuming you have an active full Creative Cloud subscription? When you installed Fireworks with the offline installer, did you choose the 'Try' option?

I'm assuming you're on a Windows machine? This should fix your issue: 1) Download the Adobe Creative Clouder Cleaner Tool from here 2) Remove Fireworks by running the cleaner tool (run as administrator) => select language => agree to terms type'Y' => select 1. All => 2. Adobe Fireworks CS6 3) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\ and rename or delete the folder 'PDApp' 4) Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\ and rename or delete the folder 'CS6ServiceManager' 5) Now open the Creative Cloud app and turn off automatic updates; click your profile icon (top right) => Preferences => Apps => make sure Auto-update is off (if you leave Auto-update on, Fireworks will be updated and you'll most likely end up with the same issue again). 6) Reboot your system for good measure 7) Download this offline Fireworks installer that I saved , unzip it and install Fireworks **NOTE** Choose 'TRY' when presented with options, you may additionally be asked to sign in with your Adobe credentials 8) When you launch Fireworks for the first time, you may be prompted to sign in with your Adobe credentials, if you then see a button 'license this software' click it, and you should be good to go.

Hi - download here - copy the folder to your Fireworks commands folder. The conversion to PSD is not always perfect, it is what it is as they say, but at least it gives you an option to bulk convert if you have a lot of layered Fireworks PNGs. The only other program that can open Fireworks PNGs has been mentioned here before: Photopea - free with ads, or you can pay a small subscription to be ad free. Good luck 👍

Affinity Designer is about the closest thing I've seen to Fireworks but it can't open layered Fireworks PNGs like Photopea can. I have some Fireworks commands for batch converting Fireworks PNGs to other firmats like PSD, let me lnow if you would like them.

First of all frames are old hat - if you want to view the main page source that contains the frameset, switch to design view and you should see borders that represent the borders of each frame - click on a border then view code source.

1) If you're on Windows 10, make sure you have the latest Windows updates 2) Try removing Fireworks and the licence id from your current machine with the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and then reinstalling 3) After clean up try installing with a Fireworks offline installer from here, read the instructions, you'll need to visit this page first to set an Adobe cookie before trying to download (these are official Adobe installers). Alternatives to Fireworks are Photopea, a web based sort of Photoshop clone that can open layered Fireworks PNG files, if you have a full Adobe subscription, then Illustrator and Photoshop are options, albeit they have a much steeper learning curve. Affinity Designer is probably the nearest thing around to Fireworks IMO, it has a lot of similarities. If you manage to get Fireworks working again, you can use these Fireworks commands to bulk convert your layered Fireworks PNGs top other formats, like PSD for example.

I'm assuming you have a Creative Cloud subscription? Firstly install the Creative Cloud app in your Parallels Windows VM, then go here and download a Fireworks CS6 offline installer for Windows. *Important* these are links to official Adobe installers and you need to visit this page first and login with your Adobe credentials before trying to download (to set an Adobe cookie). I got Fireworks CS6 working successfully on a Macbook Air M1 with this method. Other things which may be useful: there is a web based app called Photopea that can open layered Fireworks PNGs and here are some Fireworks commands for batch converting layered Fireworks PNGs to PSDs and other formats.

Out of interest, how you accessing the browser preview function? Am I right in saying you want to preview as local files rather than a localhost url? In that case you might need to remove your local testing server from the site definition preferences..

1) in site settings => local info try unchecking 'enable cache' 2) if using GIT make sure you don't have a large number of files ready to be staged it can cause massive perfomance issues 3) Temporarily disable windows indexing to see if that is an issue - if it is, you need to add your dreamweaver folders, project folder(s) and if using a local testing server your web server root folder as exclusions 4) Temporarily disable anti-virus, if it appears to be the issue again add exclusions in your anti-virus settings 5) in Dreamweaver preferences => general => uncheck 'enable related files' it can cause performance issues under certain circumstances 6 ) I think somebody has already mentioned in preferences => linting => disable on edit linting 7) in preferences => sync settings => disable automatic sync 8) if you have any third party extension installed - remove them to see if they are the issue Sometimes it requires laborious trial and error to pinpoint the issue, if you have any other software running in the background on your PC try disabling it to see if there is a conflict with Dreamweaver.

If you're on Windows take a look ar EasyPHP - I have been using for several years, and find it a good set up for a local testing server. There are additional modules/add ons to for setting up things like local virtual hosts (which I find useful for working with multiple projects) and you can switch between PHP/Apache/MySQL versions if need be.

You need to visit this page before download .... You can't install Fireworks on Mac Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey at all as they do not support 32 bit apps - you'd have to go down the Parallels Desktop route to install the Windows version

I have it working on a Macbook Air M1 - the only issue I had was that Fireworks wasn't available in the Creative Cloud app so what you can do in this case is download an offline Fireworks Windows installer from here (Legit Adobe installers) and be sure to visit this page first and login with Adobe credentials as you need to set an Adobe cookie first before attempting to download.
