Hi Search results link to a unstyled Web App instead to the actual page it resides in. Please do this: 1. go to: http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/ 2. search for "Michael" on the top global search 3. on the search results page click on the name (link). 4. you will see Michael's web app item not the actuall page it resides in (http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/About/the-team) How to avoid getting web app results in search? Thanks Mario, I wish we wouldn't have to add names. A better UX is to use email since Newsletters are usually generic and only require an email. In Any case BC must change there Dynmiac Forms. The use of Tables is insane and the fact that each update requires inserting the form again is very odd. Back to work now...-( Micha

Hi guys I would like to add a Newsletter Subscripiton form without the Name and Last name fields. http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/About/about-us The subcsripiton field is at the bottom footer. When submitting the form I get an error: "ERROR: An error occurred. Your web form must capture customer name and email address. Please fix this issue and re-insert your web form on your web page." I don't want the name just email. Is it possible? When I try to create a new form those fields (Name, Last Name and Email) are automatically added and there is no way to delete them. Thanks Micha

Hi guys I asked a few days ago about setting up a site to facilitate 2 stores and you said it's not possible. My question now is let's say I have one website facilitating two countries. I user chooses a country on the home page, selects products and when checking out an order email will be sent to the specific country's admin person. If this is possible why not two stores? I just want an email going to the designated store manager, the payment gateway will be one gateway. Thanks Micha

Thanks Liam, I usually don't use BC templates but this time I did want to get all the modules set so it was useful to use a template. I am using my own templates now so why does it still show doctype xhtml? my website looks really odd and obsolete to my client and visitors. Cheers Micha

Hi I have this unusual project and not sure if or how to approach it. The projects includes 2 physical stores that store the same products. one store in Melbourne and one in Sydney. The website should allow visitors to order products at a specific store and pick the order from the store (no delivery). The problem are: 1. How do to maintain stock availability for 2 stores using one database? 2. I would like to have people choose a store first and then see the products available for that store and the order will go to the specific store email (Melbourne or Sydney Email). Is it possible? Hi I found this problem happening a few times and can't point the reason. Today I had to delete a banner from a home template and once I "updated" the page the template changed back to default (not my custom template) and also the phone template was erased. luckily I had a local backup. This also happens to updated pages where the assigned template will revert to 'default'. It's really frustrating me and my clients as I need to keep on fix these issue and I can't charge for it. The additional post was to show that the true and false do not work whatever I tried to do even with a new gallery set to default the quality of the thumbnails is low. Hi guys I just opened a free basic plan and going to use Google Apps to manage mail. When I went to BC to configure the domain I see that there are options to add additional info such as CNAME, A Records, MX Records etc. Why are those options included in the Basic Plan if there is no mail option? Or can I set the DNS to point to BC and change BC's MX records to point to Google Apps? Thanks, Micha

Sorry for the late delay is responding. I found this issue again today. 1. Create a new Content Holder in BC. 2. Download the Content Holder to your local machine ( I use Espresso). It will reside in _System/ContentHolders/yourContentHolder.html 3. Modify the yourContentHolder.html 4. Upload back to BC 5. Insert yourContentHolder.html into a webpage (should be something like: {module_contentholder,43464} ) 6. Now make changes to yourPlaceHolder.html locally (in Espresso for instance) 7 Upload to BC 8. The modified ContentHolder 'yourPlaceHolder.html' is now using a new module number (i.e {module_contentholder_43465}). 9 Now I need to go through all the pages and replace the ContentHolder module. Thanks Liam, Not sure what you're refering to. I am using templates and asign the templates to the pages. If I try to edit the pages in Espresso and upload back to BC, BC will show "Don't use template" in the temaplte dropdown menu. If I have to use BC editor, so be it. Thanks Micha

Hi When I upload/ sync pages (.htm) from Espresso (or any other non-dreamweaver) they lose the template associated with them. Even if I first create the page in BC and save the page with an associated template once I download that page, modify and upload again to BC it will lose the template. This means I need to go through all the pages and re-assign them a template. Any way to rectify this? Thanks, Micha

Hi I am using Espresso to develop a site in BC and noticed that placeholder's ID keep on changing after I save and upload them back to BC. Sometime I will get errors uploading placeholders, but when it finally goes through the ID will change which means changing all the placeholders in various code. is this a bug? Thanks, Micha

Hi Dandy I couldn't find a 'quick' way to be able to display a home catalogue. one thing you can do is to create you e-commerce site and then download the CVS file and modify that. there are unfortunately many annoying parts with BC that require extra steps (such as workflow) or ,modifying a simple form which should be a 5 minutes work but can become a 2 hours testing nightmare. With BC I found that it's better off taking the long way and just tagging one product at a time. It's designed that way and in most cases you won't have more then a bundle of products in the home page anyway. Cheers Micha
