You are right, no "save as" option to save for jpg. was thinking export for web option (screen shot attached). Could always try copying contents of the layer not previewing into a new document and pasting back into original document in a new layer. Thats all I got- hope this may help - good luck!

Hi, not sure if this is just a random issue, but I a file created in April of this year has given the "text made in old version of Illustrator and may change... blah blah" warning. Once ok is hit to edit it actually does change the spacing in the font. The kerning goes to (1) instead of optical with tracking +5. When changed back the kerning and tracking with proper spacing - it does not match! Another time wasting glitch. Please address this. Screen shot attached. black text is " old" April 2021 file pink text is "updated" with same kerning/tracking re-entered.

Hi Monika, sometimes its faster to find a work around. Would try saving as a jpeg/gif instead of exporting. Also if the images used have a clipping mask or a translucent background, this can cause an issue. Example the logo top left, if it is a photo trace with clipping mask sometimes this can create an issue when saving as photo/jpeg that already has many paths. All else fails take all the layers (in a saved copy ) that are not used and combine / simplify the artwork as much as possible. Been a long time since I made an animated gif ( like 20yrs *-*), but back in the day each element was saved individually ( example rollover image separate than non active component) and put together in the respective program (dreamworks/fireworks). Thank you Jeff for taking the time to help. It looked like isolation mode but could not escape it. This happens in the first release of V25, at random. What illustrator was doing is when working in multiple layers and isolation mode entered, it created another layer with all other artwork and when the arrow to expand the layer components was pressed, it had locked all the components and put a transparency on. This is how the artwork stayed after isolation mode was disengaged. To salvage the artwork, had to merge layers - unlock all components, select all, copy and paste into a new layer. Then select all artwork and put the transparency back to 100%. Had to recreate the layers I had previously before with the appropriate artwork in each one. Do believe it is a glitch and it happens randomly not every time in isolation mode with more than one layer. So far is has happened 3 times ( different files) since the update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program as well.

Hi There, happening often, not sure why. Almost like isolated artwork but as seen in the screen shot am not in that mode. So far I found it takes one active layer and divide's in two layers. Locks the artwork not being worked on and you have to go to this "new layer" and unlock all. After this the other artwork is accessble but is still dimmed out. The transparency is 100% and the dim option in the layers is not activated. Believe this is a glitche that happens randomly in isolation mode but how I am suppose to get all the artwork to show up normally - have no idea. Any help is appreciated, will be reinstalling the program to see if it fixes this. why every release is the last 2 years comes with these ODD time consuming glitches should be addressed???

Happens at random for key objects spacing, can upload a screen shot next time it happens. In tabs section you can manually input a number. Right now it shows 19.1" if I were to put in 17" it will stay at 19.1 (tab dragged to that point ). Contacted Adobe, their advice was the style sheets were corrupt ( if a new file opened the tab features work properly), but this happens in all files made in any versions prior to the 2020 update. Any help is appreciated, been using illustrator since 2001 so do have some experience 🙂 .

2020 update for Illustrator: Issue with getting exact spacing increment. With using tabs, can not manually input desired line-up (will not accept change). Same issue with manually inputting spacing from a key object (50% of the time will work if the unit is also typed in eg:0.25"). Running OS windows 10, this Started after 2020 update. Preferences already have been reset. Anyone able to fix this issue? It is driving me nuts!!
