Updated to PrPro 2025 and brought in single MXF (Sony XAVC LongGOP @35Mbps) Testing out program
Applied Lumetri Color to Clip & "Basic Correction" controls worked fine. Reset those controls.
Used Color Wheels under "Color Wheels & Match" and the Shadows/Mids/Highlights sliders only move a 1/8 of the slide distance when clicking & dragging the control
If I keep dragging the Controller, the image in the Program monitor doesn't change until I release the Controller, and then it pops to where I selected, but I can't control it enough in real-time to do color adjustments. System: Win11 Pro (i9-9900k @3.60GHz) RAM: 64 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super (8 GB vRAM); Studio Driver version 565.90 Premiere Pro 2025

Description: We can set Audio Types, so a Dialogue track gets prominence & other Audio Types (Music, Ambiance, SFX) can be ducked against the Dialogue. It'd be helpful if there was a way to establish dominance/distinction for Person A's Dialogue v Person B (or Person C, for that matter). So if PersonA is talking at the same time as PersonB, then PersonB's audio gets ducked/lowered; but if PersonA isn't talking but PersonB is - then PersonA's Dialogue gets ducked in the absence of PersonB's Audio. Either as a "Priority Dialogue" selector, and/or a checkbox to generate "inverted" ducking keyframes. Would be helpful for interviews where there's one person talking at a time. I have a monthly show & this Feature would definitely speed up the process!

FWIW, seems more stable than 24.4.1 or 24.5. Had to delete all Media Cache file (good SOP anyways), but no "frozen program monitor" or "mucho delayed Sequence scrubbing" issues.

Hmmm... my Caption Track settings are set to 708. Left office for the day, but will try using the "selected edit to playhead" shortcut after changing Caption Track settings to Subtitles (FWIW, I'm on Windows 11)

@Remote Index , mad props to the username - thought you were a straight-up bot for a while. Currently, there are a number of ways that caption tracks work differently from other tracks in terms of interface, with no apparent logic as to the distinctions. Agreed, but Adobe's captioning workflow & functionality has grown tremendously from the trainwreck it used to be. Edit: having said that, have you tried the "extend selected edit to playhead" shortcut (default shortcut E, I believe)? Does this do what you want (almost)? I did, no luck though. "Cut" keyboard shortcut is only one I found that works & there aren't many assignable shortcuts for manipulating Caption Track. Function prob can't be mapped to the same shortcut as clips in a Sequence, but I wouldn't mind any at this point.

How will the idea help your workflow? Adding keyboard shortcuts for "Extending Previous Edit to Playhead" & "Extending Next Edit to Playhead" have changed my edit game in terms of speed. Would love to see this capability extended to Captions in the Caption Track. Currently, they don't work even though the Caption Track is Targeted. Maybe a bug, but gonna request as a Feature I'd like to see implemented. I do a lot of captioning so not having to toggle tools saves me a lot of time spent elsewhere.

@R Neil Haugen True, can open the Beta in regular stable releases. I've got friends in marketing that are still a *cough* versions behind, kinda doubt they'll use a Beta until it's passed mettle, but this feature is a definite game-changer.

@Kevin-Monahan bummer, well... good to know it's getting closer to the stable release. @Stan Jones | Where did you hear that Text Based Editing would be in 23.3? I saw the Text-Based Editing was coming to 23.3 in the Adobe Blog this morning: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/04/13/nab-2023-introducing-text-based-editing-premiere-pro-properties-panel-after-effects-more Screenshot appears to be the stable release of 23.3 instead of the Beta, but... alas I had to load the Source Clip into the Source Monitor to get the "Transcribe Clip" option in the Transcription panel as an available option. It did toggle between "Transcribe Clip" and "Transcribe Sequence" based on which area was focused (Source Monitor v Sequence). Great point about having to select which audio track to transcribe! I did manually set In/Out Points a good ways into the clip (still around audio). There was an issue with the "Transcribe Sequence" button getting disabled if users told it to only Transcribe In-to-Out Points, but there was an extra blank frame at the "Out" point & the default start of the program wasn't recognized as a valid "In" Point. (brevity b/c last submission failed to post) Thanks my peeps!

Premiere Pro: 23.3 PC: Alienware Aurora R8 (i9-9900k @3.6GHz) OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (v 10.0.22621 Bild 22621) In wake of hearing that speech-to-text editing is getting implemented in the stable 23.3 release of Premiere, I tried Transcribing a Clip (before creating a Sequence). However, when I select the Clip, (in the Transcript panel) select "Transcribe Clip", I get a Dialog box that only allows me to cancel the operation. "Transcribe" is greyed out, with the only semi-helpful message "Speaker labeling selection is required to enable transcription". Tried digging in Preferences for an opt-in to allow Speaker labeling, but didn't see anything. In the Transcripion panel, I do have "Show Speakers", "Enable auto-scrolling", and "Check Spelling" enabled, but don't see any other options to allow this setting. Help me @kev_mon , you're my only hope!

In your Sequence, click on the "hamburger" menu option & uncheck "Rectified Audio Waveform". Can also uncheck "Logarithmic Waveform Scaling" if that gives a cleaner-looking waveform if that floats your goat.

If the media is HLG or some log-encoded media, which Premiere is "seeing" as HLG, just changing the sequence settings will not help for exports. Premiere will still blow out the clips on export. Premiere shouldn't blow out the clip if the Export settings are changed to HLG 2100 Color Space. Which can only be done by changing the Profile to High10, anything else limits the Color Space to REC 709 - resulting in the problematic image in OP. You must use the new color management controls on the clip ... found in the project panel. Select one or more clips in the bin, right-click/Modify/Interpret Footage. Go to the color management settings at the bottom, and set the Override option to Rec.709. Now, make sure the sequence setting CM is set to Rec.709, and any adjustments you do to color/tonality will be respected at export. um... gonna respectfully disagree here. I see a lot of recommendations to do it this way, but IMHO Premiere just cuts off anything beyond the REC 709 luma limits - which results in an image that doesn't have much contrast. Adding supplemental contrast from Lumetri Panel only degrades the image further. Premiere's "Color Space Override" should lower the Exposure by 2/3 (roughly) to keep the luma-to-chroma ratio intact instead of just cutting off anything higher than 110 IRE. Until that happens, I'd recommend users lower the Exposure manually to prevent image/contrast/luma loss. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I spent a couple hours trying to get an HLG 2100 clip looking right in a 709 Sequence (having applied the Override you mentioned) before giving up on the Override function altogether. To your point, working in 709 Sequences is a lot easier to manage than jumping between Color Spaces with exports. Best, Jon

@Ann Bens nailed it. Long-term, your Sequence should be in a REC709 Color Space & bring your Exposure down in Lumetri Color until it doesn't look overblown. If you're not exporting mixed footage, you might be able to get away with exporting in the HLG color space. Under your Video Export setting, click the "..." for more settings. Change Profile to "High10", then you can change the Export Color Space to HLG 2100 (or REC 2020, whichever color space your footage/Sequence is).

Resolved without having to roll back.. unfortunately don't know how I did it. Somehow Premiere couldn't find the English Language pack. I opened the "Spell Check Settings" box under the Text Panel, there were no language to select from. I don't think trashing Preferences did anything, but I did uncheck "Check Spelling" box and restarted Premiere. When I opened the Spell Check Settings box later, the English language options had returned.

Any way to force the CC app to see the download? Or grab the installer from another machine & verify under our Adobe ID? Really want to try out these new features, but my machine doesn't see them - co-worker machines are getting the update though.

Nature of the codec: it became sharp because that's when the displayed frame was an I(ntra)-frame or B-frame. It was blurry due to lower resolution/bitrate from YouTube & the "drawing" images were P(redictive)-frames.It still happens on the 1080p version, but you don't notice it because it's higher resolution & allowed a higher qulaity bitrate.

Use MediaInfo to check out those drone recordings, they could be Variable Frame Rate. Heard some drone recordings (specifically DJI) can change to VFR instead of CFR to prevent full recording stops. Frames are dropping so it makes VFR files where it can to keep recording, but there are dropouts due to a low write-speed of the SD card.

Program is fine. The problem is in your footage - it's game/screen recording & most likely Variable Frame Rate. Solution: Use Shutter Encoder or Handbrake.fr to convert to a Constant Frame Rate - use the converted CFR footage in your project.
