Here is another slightly more extreme example where every folder is shown multiple duplicates. There is also another problem that I did not mention in the original post. When the folders start showing duplicates, the file names are also being messed up.

Good Day, I have been struggling with a bug that shows duplicate folders when saving a project to Adobe Creative Cloud. However, everything looks normal if you go to the exact location in "Your Files". This image shows that this directory only has 3 folders: Concepts, Print Files, and Print Files Scaled. However, when I want to save a project to this directory using the "Save As" function, it shows multiple duplicate Concepts folders. Because Creative Cloud "File Sync" is being discontinued, I am moving all my files to "Your Files", and I have had this happen multiple times. The only way to fix it is to close all the Adobe apps and relaunch everything. It has occurred when I used "Save As" in both Illustrator and Photoshop. Although this bug is not system-breaking critical as it does not seem to actually duplicate the folders, it does make navigating the files quite tricky, resulting in mistakes happening and a slower pace of work. My Windows, all my drivers and the Adobe Apps are up to date. Windows 11 Illustrator v 28.1 Photoshop v 25.3.1

Hi All, some fantastic news! This morning Photoshop's update v24.2 was available for me (New Zealand, 23 Feb) and it looks like the bug has been fixed. I have tested multiple PSD files, and even a PSB file and the gude log file does not automatically create any more. Finally! I hope the update is available for everyone soon.

I came to see if I could find a solution to this problem, as it is extremely frustrating. However, I am also using another workaround to avoid Photoshop from creating the gude text file. As mentioned, you can launch Photoshop first (that I always forget to do), or you can just right-click the .PSD file and say " Open With", and then select Photoshop. I hope they fix this soon.

@Bowlando , Thank you for your comment! This clears up the mystery problem that has been driving us crazy for a while, and good to know that it has actually been addressed. I am also still having the same problem, even after I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have just given up as I have tried all the provided solutions, and I am tired of losing all my settings and preferences (actual work and deadlines still need to be done). Good luck, everyone, we will just have to wait for the mercy of an Adobe Update.

Hi Anubhav, Thank you for the clarification regarding the file location and steps. I had Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator 25 and Adobe Illustrator 26 in that file and renamed all three with .old. It seems it has done the trick, as I could get two full days of work without any problem. Although, it is still early days as it has only been two days. So I will mark it as the correct answer, and if it breaks again, I will return to this thread. However, I thank you for the support and hope that the solution works for others as well. (Side note, it looks like even if you uninstall Illustrator, it leaves these "old" files behind that cause the problem.)

I am experiencing a similar problem where the save popup panel and even the dropdown menus are blank after a few hours of work. As mentioned in another comment, the only way to temporarily fix it is if you restart Illustrator, resulting in a few restarts a day. I also created a post here trying to figure it out: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/increased-performance-problems-and-dropdown-menus-breaking/m-p/13154774#M333657 For me, the whole screen section over the artboards even goes black and sometimes fixes when I zoom in and out. And when the dropdown menus go blank, you can sometimes reveal the options by mousing over them. Save menu blank: Dropdown menu blank: Mouse over the menu reveals the options (sometimes) : I have also uninstalled Illustrator, deleted leftover files, reset preferences, and updated all drivers, but the problem persists. I think Illustrator starts using up the ram, graphics memory or something (even if we have strong computers) and never releases it until we restart Illustrator. That is why it gets worse or starts happening over time as we keep on working in Illustrator. I will keep looking and hope we find a working solution!

Hi Tikyta, sorry to hear you also have the same problem. I haven't found a solution yet but will do some testing with the Windows Safe mode to see if it is third-party problem. But judging from others problems, it feels like it is an Illustrator problem. I will post if I find a fix!

Hi Anubhav, thank you for your response and recommendations. I don't have another account set up on this PC (I will leave creating an extra account as a last resort). However, in another post, I saw someone recommended running Windows in Safe Mode. This should do the same effect as your recommendation, and I will give that a go today. Thank you once again!

Hi Monika, thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I have tried this. When I uninstalled Illustrator, I chose the option to forget all my settings and preferences. I should have taken a screenshot of my panels and layout before doing this, as I can't seem to get everything back exactly how I had it. Haha.

Hi All, I have been experiencing a weird problem with Illustrator and have been enduring it for quite a while, hoping it is just a bug that would be fixed. But since it just happened again, I decided to grab a few screenshots and see if someone knew about a solution. It seems that Illustrator launches perfectly fine, and everything is normal for roughly the first hour. Then Illustrator started becoming slower, with increased problems the more I keep on working. Eventually, it creates a black screen over the artboards, and then I know it's time to check that I have saved. At this point, if you want to use any of the dropdown menus, it is blank (just white) and only reveals the options when you mouse over them. Even if you just want to close and use the save prompt that posts up, that is also blank (although you can guess where the buttons are, and they still work). I have a fairly good computer and all my drivers are updated. I have uninstalled Illustrator, chose not to remember my preferences and deleted any leftover files. Unfotunilty, after freshly installing Illustrator again, the problem persists. The only way to temporarily fix it is to save and restart Illustrator until it happens again in 1-2 hours. Since it is such a random problem, I understand a thousand things can cause it. I am just trying my luck to see if someone else experienced the same thing and maybe found a solution to the problem. Screenshots attached of the menus being blank and only revealing when mousing over, the prompt that pops up when closing without saving first, and in the background, you can see the black screen it causes over the artboards. I appreciate your time and advice!
