Hey @anton_3721 I have all the AE files in folders. The best thing is to keep everything as neat as possible when working with many files. I make sure that Premierefolders and the File Folders match so when I need to find all files of a certain nature Example: Audio files for Voice Over, or Descriptive Video, I know where to find them in one shot. AE files and animations are in another folder. Music in another folder, SFX in another folder, etc etc..you get it. If you don't have them collected in folders, you can search for them. Once all the AE files are found, select all and open all. NOTE: If a new version creates a new file with the [converted] in the name, you will have to rename each file and save it without the [converted] part. WHY: Premiere communicates with AE AE and Pr will lose something when AE is updated (this is why this problem occurs) Pr will have to relink the files that you converted to the new version of AE, and you have removed [converted] from the name. If the name is different Pr only relink the exact file name that is present in the timeline. Everything should work by simply opening the file in Pr. No additional work is needed...or maybe I was lucky? But this happens quite often and the solution is always the same for me. Let me know if this works for you

Hello Dear Premiere Pro users, I hope with this message to help you all fix a few problems with Premiere Pro. I apologize for the lengthy post. After being in contact with the highest tier of Adobe tech support since November 2023 and not getting anywhere. I figured out what was wrong with our entire fleet of computers; fixed the issues; tried the solutions again and again, and came up with this list. Disclaimer: This might not work for all of you, but it worked for our entire fleet of PC. I just hope this can help a little bit. Explanation of the problems since November 2023: I own 3 companies and I build my PC to make sure that they are at the maximum power and speed based on what I need them to do. 4 video cards, latest CPU, galore of RAM, etc etc... All PCs are always up to date and the more powerful the PC, the more Premiere would not work. (I won't bore with the details of what we tried and did not work...but we tried everything, to the point that we migrated all our production to DaVinci Resolve). Note: This is not a rant against PP and the migration was necessary because PP just doesn't work for large productions, as their focus seems to be AI and small social media edits. This is what I gather from what I see, what I tested on featured movies and TV shows, and from the obsolete engine of PP. This is just my opinion. Solutions: Premiere Pro came back to life after removing an external hard drive plugged into the USB backport. The HDD works fine, but for some reason I cannot explain why PP did not like the HDD (shrug). The problem was an eternal loading and crashing. To answer your question, NO, No file was ever on that HDD. So REMOVE ALL attached DRIVES and any USB connection and PP should come back to life (tested on 4 PC) Unplug all screens except for the main one. PP does not like a lot of screens. I have about 6 Screens on one PC and another PC with 3 screens. After unplugging every screen, PP reduced the crashes to a phenomenal ZERO, compared to a 100% crash every time I opened a file. Tested on 6 PCs. True and verified. I came to this "illumination" after I asked myself what do the older computers have that the new ones don't...and it was not what they HAVE but it was what they DON'T HAVE. For some reason no matter if the GPU was a 2060, 2080, 3080, 4080, 4090, or multiple, they all do not stand multiple screens. (Again...this is what has happened to me, if haters are out there ready to jump at my jugular I'm just stating what happened and how I fixed it.) Use the ESSENTIAL workspace, and RESET to DEFAULT. Then REMOVE the Learn and Library panels to lighten as much as possible the UI. The speed increased tremendously; crashes ZERO; scrubbing at the speed of light; conforming clips check; export full TV series in minutes compared to tens of hours Give AS MUCH RAM as you can to the Adobe applications and close all other ones in the background Last, when exporting, be sure that the export settings can support HARDWARE ACCELERATION so you can use your GPU if powerful enough, some settings can switch to SOFTWARE ONLY and this means that your GPU or GPUs will be sleeping and elongating endlessly the export. I hope this helps others as much as it has helped me in the last month. Cheers Sergio

Dear Adobe, I hope this message finds you well and that someone from your team will read and implement these changes as a suggestion from who has used all your software professionally for over three decades and that has been an ACE for at least 2. I will not bore you with the accolades and awards that I achieved worldwide, whether in photography, cinematography, and editing, but I must bring these points to the public and your attention. Like many colleagues on this forum that are definitely better than me, I believe we can all agree on these points that Adobe "should" be focusing its attention. As much as I understand the appeal of AI and the appeal of small social media content creators as they are the masses that make your wallet rumble, they are not your best and most loyal users. Their content can be edited with anything and they are not interested in keeping Adobe as their only software house. They will move to any other free software in a blink of an eye compared to professionals that stick to a software for a lifetime! And are willing to pay for it! So please let's all get our priorities straight. What are your next steps? Premiere Pro is a "video software," so if it does not play smoothly the footage to edit, its existence makes no sense...Same clips, same computer, same everything...Premiere plays poorly while others play smoothly and scrubbing, cutting, coloring, fading, sound engineering, and exporting, are a pleasure to go through. (Note: let's not blame the computer please as it only has installed Premiere Pro and i9 Intel; 128 Gb Ram; RTX4090, and again all other software play the same footage smoothly) so what are we planning to do about this? Color Grading. Maybe 10 years ago the "lumetri" was a good idea...after discontinuing "speedgrade" we all thought that this was going to be a good idea and get something better...and here another massive failure from Adobe, because Lumetri is nothing more than "Paint" to "Photoshop", "Canva" to "illustrator", so when can we expect a professional color grading interface and better capabilities? Sound...how is it that we have 5.1 capabilities right into Premiere Pro, yet we need to go to Audition? Why do all those "powerful capabilities" live in Premiere Pro, yet the bug that the Center Channel does not export from Premiere when working on DD 5.1 sound... Are we all aware that there are better and more complex scenarios than the "stereo"? When can we expect to have a professional audio interface that can EXPORT center channels and not have to bounce back and forth between software, and in particular when working on a massive video production with over 200 hours of footage from 5 cameras? CPU, RAM, and GPU Why, WHY WHY...do we continue to purchase incredibly expensive hardware when the obsolete engine that Premiere Pro has NEVER uses its power? In all cases, the playback is poor (see point 2); the export is slow; the effects are old and obsolete, and God forbid you have a healing spot and some noise effects on a clip; this means you are doomed. God forbid you have a timelapse nested; never have an image or some footage that is not 100% set to scale, because in all these cases and more, you are best to take a vacation after you click the export button. I can continue forever, but we all know that there are massive problems in the house of Adobe, and things need to change before bleeding users left, right, center, and LFE (did you get it? clever! ...no!?)...We also all know what other software is available out there that has been killing it at a fraction of the cost...so What are we going to do about it? Because the frustration is real! The problems are real! The deadlines are always too close! And we must be heard because we pay thousands of dollars for something that is not worth it anymore. Suggestion Time: It's okay to focus on entry-level users that, in a blink of an eye, will leave for the next best (cheap) thing...but let's truly connect with professionals in the filming industry, in the photography industry, even though they might not have millions of followers, Yet they are the ones that produce the best advertising, feature films, magazines, websites, logos, that are out there. Hopefully, one person will resonate. Another example of what I'm talking about introducing and discontinuing products...it seems that at the top of Adobe there are too many people that don't have a clue of what they are doing: ***** Dear Creative Cloud Administrator, We are notifying you of an upcoming change to Creative Cloud: Adobe is modernizing the Creative Cloud storage experience and will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files for business customers under Creative Cloud for Teams and Creative Cloud for Enterprise plans. If your users don't use Creative Cloud Synced Files, it won't affect them. If they do, here's how they might be impacted: Starting February 1, 2024 Users will no longer be able to share files or folders from Creative Cloud Synced files with new users outside of your organization, sharing will continue to work within your organization until October 1st. Starting October 1, 2024 We will begin discontinuing the Creative Cloud content synchronization process as well as synced file and folder sharing, and permanently remove the cloud-based copies of files for users. We will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files for business customers. Assets in the local Creative Cloud Files folder on user devices will no longer be synchronized with Creative Cloud storage. User files will remain in their local Creative Cloud Files folder. Folders and assets previously shared from Creative Cloud Synced files will no longer be accessible to others including inside your organization as well as externally. Note that users may not see these changes right away as we roll out the process gradually. Recommended actions: It is recommended that you inform the users in your organization about this upcoming change. In addition, make sure that your organization's assets are safely backed up either locally or through a third-party cloud storage provider. Adobe will not be sending out notifications regarding this change directly to your organization's users. Adobe’s Customer Support organization is available to answer any questions. Please contact them here. Regards, Adobe Creative Cloud Team

Hey @Jordan.jpg All good. If you can, share it here in this forum. This is the best approach because I'm sure that if we solve this problem, we can help other users that are going crazy like us on a daily basis LOL. If you have files that you can share publicly, I have about 16 different computers that I can test it on simultaneously. If the file comes back to life, I'll save it multiple times (each one with one layer missing), and send them back to you.

Hey @Jordan.jpg I'm so sorry for the late reply and that you are facing this problem. Let me start with, "This is a tricky one." I'll do my best to help and be as clear as possible, but the solutions are not at all easy. Your problem can be (as far as I know): 1) Conflict within the file. I don't know how complex your files are, but one thing that has happened to me in the past is that extremely complex animations get corrupted and don't work...I don't have an answer to why, but I do have a solution. Open the files on other computers. I wish I could tell you that it's about your presets or something on your machine, but I can't...what I did was open it on a series of my colleague's machines, and in the end, we got it back. After that save the file multiple times and deleting one element each time you save...this will help you open it on your machine and you should be able to know what is bothering your computer. I think it can be related to the drivers of the machine when calculating biggggggger files...but please take this as a grain of salt. 2) Conflict with hardware or version of your AE when importing certain files (even simple.jpg) it creates the error...this glitch I had to create the most convoluted workflow...opening the project on a separate computer and then working on my main computer...nightmare, but in the end it worked. If you don't have sensitive content, you can connect with me and send me an empty AE file and the file that is giving you problems to rule out any computer problem and try to find a solution within the software. Hope this helps

@ColbyFulton That is so true. I forgot to mention that my footage is all on SSDs Samsung installed on the motherboard causing the least amount of bottleneck possible. I also tried with NVMe that read/writes at over 5,000MBs I'm quite sure this is not a hardware problem at all.

Hello Adobe Team, This has been a recurring problem with Premiere Pro. The playback is a horrible experience, no matter the footage or settings. While I understand that many will attribute lag or freeze while playing a simple timeline (no lumetry, no effects, nothing applied to the clips) to my hardware; the fact is that the computer is not the problem, as DaVinci Resolve works with the same full resolution clips—on the same machine—flawlessly. This rules out any problems with the machine itself, so it must be something related to Premiere Pro. But no matter how much ram I allocate to Premiere Pro, the results are extremely poor. So...let's cut down to the chase. Premiere Pro "should" burn through all my hardware resources (if needed) to play the timeline smoothly, yet this doesn't happen. It does not use the GPU. It doesn't work. Period. I'm not here to start the conversation about DR vs Pr. Yet, I cannot understand where Adobe's priority are? Premiere's poor performance is not something new; it has been years that this has been going on. While bleeding users are migrating to other solutions, there is no announcement nor improvements on this front...and let's not get into the color grading results because that becomes another rabbit hole. Rhetorical Question: Shouldn't Adobe's focus be on making Premiere "PRO" a "Professional" software again? Or is all the attention put into AI autogenerating junk on Ps? I apologize for the harsh tone. Hello Adobe Creative Thinkers, I constantly receive questions on how to submit files to movie theatres, broadcast stations, etc... This CC question, though, is coming up quite a bit, so I thought to share the solution here. When importing a file in Premiere and you want to keep the CC (as an example, you are optimizing/embedding/editing a commercial spot for an advertiser that sent you a complete file)...the solution requires two steps:: 1) Make sure that your preferences are set to keep the CC 2) Right-click on the clip once imported in the timeline and click [restore captions from source clip] For broadcast, you need 2 CC tracks with these standards*: 1) 608 2) 708 (*) Note that each broadcasting station or distributor will require its version of audio and standards. Let me know if you want me to create a video on the export settings. I hope this helps! Sergio

@Fergus H Thank you so much. I have been a firm supporter of Adobe since I first purchased Photoshop 4 (in 1997…I think). I acquired the ACE certificate in Italy and one day hope to become an ambassador for a brand that allows me to have the best job in the world. Everything I create is done 100% on Adobe software; that is why I care so deeply about software house. From Global Heroes (the largest Positive Newspaper in North America) to its new show "It's a Beautiful World with Jeff Fuchs, to my own photos and videos, the magazine that I publish, all my clients (and friends) creations have been on Adobe software. Did you try the solution in my post? uninstall Ae and remove all preferences install again Ae open all Ae files (an alarm will pop up asking to update to the latest version), update the version, and over-write (save with the exact same name by deleting the [converted] part that gets added by Ae by default) once all files are up to date, open the Pr file, and all Ae in the timeline will play... Hello @Fergus H and all the amazing Adobe Community, As many here on this forum, we need Adobe to embrace the Nikon N-Raw files. Nikon announced and released the Z9 in 2021; we are now in 2023, and yet we cannot edit footage from our Z9 (unless working with a lower level of files...which does not make sense as all videographers and cinematographers shoot at the highest capabilities of the camera that they own, and because each scene is unique and we need to get the most out of it). I shot a show called "It's a Beautiful World," Produced by Global Heroes, and I love the fact that it's 100% Adobe...but I need to convert the 12-Bit N-Raw Nikon files in order to use the files...this is a massive waste of time to convert and once converted it, I cannot color the scene properly (unless I re-export the clip). I understand that there are other priorities on the docket of Adobe, but Nikon is not an amateur choice when filming, and Adobe cannot lose its professional cinematographers and professional content creators to other software houses for something so "small". The battle between other software and Adobe is a harsh one because of the price (many other solutions are cheaper if not a one-time payment for life), and updating to the latest cameras in a matter of weeks of the release. I continue to be an Adobe fan; but to the point that my livelihood is not hindered, once I risk my job the change will have to happen...and (if that happens) turning back is not an easy process (we are talking about moving an entire production house to another software...and reversing those decisions are almost never going to happen). Food for thought.

I would like to start with...I'm not paid by Adobe, nor am I sponsored, affiliated, or endorsed in any way, shape, or form... My two cents on this is that Premiere is my suite of preference and I edit full Netflix, Hulu, Crave shows on it (Audio and color included), I still have the full Studio version of DaVinci Resolve, and I have to say that every software has problems because they are extremely complex...and sometimes it can fail...until the new update...hopefully. Nuke is extremely expensive, yes, powerful, yet extremely complex to reach a level of confidence to hold a full show on it...DaVinci Resolve is super cheap, and even though many will rage about its capabilities, it has massive flaws that are unbelievable...but how can you beat a lifetime ownership under 280 bucks (or so)...(it can't put 2 layers of CC captions, yet it can open and edit N-RAW N-LOG files the second the Z9 was released and for Adobe...we have no clue when that will happen). My Advice... Pick your suite of choice, master it, and live with the bugs that they all come with...

FIXED! I noticed that this problem was coming up after an update. My first thought was to revert back to a previous version, but you don't have to. After a lot of trial and error, my goal was to have them all updated in Pr without having to work on the entire show (over a 64-minute show with tons of Ae, would have cost me a month of work)...so I did this: uninstall Ae and remove all preferences install again Ae open all Ae files (an alarm will pop up asking to update to the latest version), update the version, and over-write (save with the exact same name by deleting the [converted] part that gets added by Ae by default) once all files are up to date, open the Pr file, and all Ae in the timeline will play... I tried on 4 different shows that I'm editing, and everything went well (so far, and fingers crossed). Let me know if this works for you!

I think I found a workaround until Adobe fixes the problem. I have a full show that I'm editing for VOD (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime...) right when I was about to deliver...the [center] and [LFE], went dead. In full panic mode I exported all the stems as single mono (so stereo would be 2 mono tracks) and imported the entire show in Audition and now remapping and exporting as 5.1DD. I'm in the process of completing this task, but (so far and knock on wood) it seems to work. I'll be submitting the new file with a 5.1 separate audio track. It's not the best solution, but I hope it sparks some ideas.
