That is unfortunate. The project was created by an external without using any CSV. But thanks for the reply. Then it just becomes manual work 😞 but doable.

Hello, Is there anybody that know how to extract text from an After effects project so that it can be translated. I know there are some paid scripts for this. But I kinda expected this to be a standard option within AE. Please let me know if somebody has a solution for this. Kind regards, Haorld

Nishu, Thanks for the reply. I already new this. And of course understandable. But in the past my laptop would process the preview a lot faster in the past. And I did not change anything. So I believe that everything is set as default. Please find the image below. Would you recommend changing the settings? As in this case it's quite difficult to time the animations to the audio if I can only preview these short parts of the total composition. And also, if the (short) previews would load a lot faster than it would be doable. But even previews of for instance 500 frames could take "a lot" of time rendering. While these 500 frames only represent 2-3 sentences make it hard to time al the animations. if I have to load the previews 10 times. And if I don't make the right adjustments straight away, even more preview loading. And also I still wonder why it takes such a long time to render the animation as well. For this I almost always use the AME. 2,5 - 3 hours rendering should not be a normal rendering time with such a laptop and a graphics card which supports hardware encoding. Kind regards Harold

Does anyone experience issues with rendering and previewing comps in their timeline? I do and it's quite frustrating. For instance my project: 1920 x 1080, 25 fps 10.000 frames video with avatar on greenscreen (which is keyed with effect) Tekst element and some lines and shapes with very basic 2d effects. Previewing above does certainly not render more than 200 frames. Even in some cases (if memory isn't purged) not more than 10-20 frames. Rendering this file can take up to 2,5 hours easily. Some specs of my Laptop: Dell Precision 5560 purchased on 25-11-2021 so not even a year old Windows 10 Pro 64x 11th gen Core i7-11850H @ 2.50 GHz 32 GB Ram Nvidia RTX A2000 GPU After effects 22.6.0 with multi frame rendering unabled. I surely hope someone can help my preview and render te video's a lot faster since this makes working a lot more pleasant. In AE i have multi frame rendering checked with set to 10% CPU reserverd for other applications.

SteveG(AudioMasters) and ryclark Well I do understand your replies. So thanks to you both. I'll mark your both answers as the solution. Since your are probably right. And I hope my experience will indeed speed things up. I can already read the visual representation of the wave form. So that's a good thing Kind regards. Harold

SteveG(AudioMasters) Thanks for responding. And off course you're right the more practice the better I get. I've already found the F8 (or key 'M') was already found by me. But I'm still wondering if I would be able to find a better and more efficient way because I (and especially my manager) would like to find a faster way. For instance it's also possible to place the markers during the recording but in my opnion it would not really save time. Even more so I'm taking up the time of the voice over as well. Therefore I choose to do this afterwards. Another point of view: Now I just push the record button and record the voice over constantly. Could there be an advantage if I would not place markers but just toggle on/off the recording button. I don't think this would work better but just sharing my thoughts by thinking out loud. SteveG(AudioMasters) "And there's no way that I'd spend 120 hours making and placing them" This is for the complete course which contains about 110-120 minutes of clean audio (probably appr. 750 separate wav files). So that probably makes it more understandable. Love to hear your or others point of view on this.

Dear readers, Within my company we create e-learning. With this e-learning we record our own voice overs. We have a proper soundbooth. Now I've found out that my workflow is pretty time consuming. And since I'm not a professional sound engineer It might be possible to improve my workflow. If you read this and have any suggestions or ideas please be so kind to advice me on this. My workflow is somewhat like this: We start with a proper script for the voice over In the studio we record the voice over. With a template document (in multitrack mode) with proper set of effects in the effect rack with noise gates etc. After recording i have to split my recording in a LOT of seperate files. And here's my issue. I go through all of the recordings and mark the right best with range markers. This is incredible timeconsuming I can be busy for appr. 4-6 hours work on audio for 8-10 minutes clean audio and placing and naming the markers correctly. This can be up to appr. 40-60 rangemarkers. After being done I save the file as a wave file with the markers included. I re-open de wav file in Audition and export the markers to seperate files. Placing and naming the ranged markers is such a precise work it takes me ages to do so. For one e-learning course I can be busy with cleaning up the audio and exporting the audio for appr. 120 hrs. While the e-learning course in total takes about 2,5 hrs to follow. Is there something I can do to speed up this workflow and decrease my spend hours on placing these markers. I hope somebody can relate to my issue and share some good thoughts. Kind regards, Harold Lentink

RobWard, Thanks for your reply as well. Since I'm not so into these terms yet, I could not come op with the term slide by slide. But this is indeed what I meant. An I indeed came to the conclusion that apparently what I want seems impossible. That is unfortunate since replacing each and every background is a tedious job to say the least. So the search for an efficient workflow remains. but on this matter I at least have some answers. So thank you as well.

I do understand your point of view. And it's certainly helpful to get a better understanding. So thanks for that.

Captivate, makes a screenrecording. After that It gets imported into your captivate project as a training (or at least not a demo). Captivate creates slides and places the hotspots etc over the screen recording. What if I would like to replace the complete screen recording with another. Could this be done (with just a click). Does Captivate store the screenrecording somewhere on the PC, so that it can be replaced via captivate or maybe even via your windows explorer. The reason that I ask is to try to find an workflow that is as effective as possible. So I might be in the wrong direction. But since we have to deal with all these translations and the frequently updates of the software that we sell, Scorm packages and screen recordings have to be created/changes on a 3-6 months base. Therefore I'm trying to get the best results with the least work. And the discussion might be even turned around like. What is the best workflow in our situation when we eventually are talking about 40-60 scormpackages per languages in at least 5 languages with changes on a 3-6 monthly base. Does this make sense?

Simulation in the training mode. But if I record these with capitvate can I then replace the screenrecoding with another (language recording). I noticed if you click on the video in the asset library, you cannot simply replace the file like for instance in Premiere or After Effects. Does this make sense

Dear fellow e-learning developers, At the moment I'm still looking if Captivate would be the right solution for us. So maybe some experienced users could shed a light on our situation. Which is the following: We have a software application. For this application we would like to create e-learning with probably a lot of software simulations. Because we think its important to let people experience the software during training (setting up test environments is not an option). But we face the fact that we have multiple languages in our software. What would be an efficient workflow. I'm under the impression that I can swap video's in Captivate. Let's say I've recorded a English scorm. Finished it up with all the extra slides hotspots everything. I then want to make an German version as well. I can record a new recording (with a mouse recorder for instance), which is "exactly" the same as the English version time wise. The only difference is the display language of our software. Could I then simply swap the video? Like to hear your experiences on this. Thanks in advance, Harold
