No, they are not present in the TOC. I thought this was exactly what this setting is for 🙂 [edit]: according to Peter's help site, that's the case: Include All Referenced Topics sets whether or not topics that are not in the TOC but have links from topics that are also get included. It was definitely working at some point in time, but I have not needed it for quite a while.

Hi all, I am using RH 2022.4.179. Here, the setting "include all referenced topics" in PDF or Word output doesn't seem to work. Neither in my project nor in the sample project. If checked, the hyperlinks in the topics stay active but point to some temp directory. The files are not attached to the output as was the case in earlier versions. Also, the tooltip of the info icon next to the setting doesn't show any content any longer. Does anyone else have this issue? I will check in the most current version later on, I have to wait for IT to start up my virtual machine here. Thank you! Karin

I was searching for a way to use only 1 PDF Template for all my manuals, instead of using a separate Template for every output due to the different covers. This way, I only have to make changes to the general layout or css once and not multiple times. It is possible to only define the look and feel (i.e. header and footer) of the front page without having to define its content as well in the PDF template. This enables you to use one PDF template for all your PDF-outputs. Here is a short how-to, in case you also want to use my method: Please note, that this will only work if all your front matter topics except the TOC can have the same layout. Steps: 1. Create a topic that shall be used as your front cover Cover Topic 2. Insert this topic into your TOC under Front Matter Topics at the first position Cover Topic in TOC Front Matter 3. In the Template, define a page layout for your cover (in German: Deckblatt) and other front matter topics, containing just the desired header / footer, but not the content: Page Layout for Cover in Templates 4. In the Template Settings, move to Page Layouts. Select your Page Layout created for your cover for Front Matter Pages and remove the selected Page Layout for Cover Page. Template Settings 5. As the TOC still can be assigned a separate Page Layout, you can have a different layout for the TOC. However, ALL other Front Matter Topics will use the Layout of your cover.

Thank you, Peter. However, according to the release notes, this is only fixed for HTML5 output in update 5, not for PDF. Gonna test update 5 in the upcoming weeks. For the time beeing, I found the fix you provided for this issue: Gelöst: Line breaks automatically being deleted in RH2022.... - Adobe Community - 14624772 Thanks again 🙂

I recognize this whitespace problem in PDF cover pages. I am using 2022.4.179. When setting up new projects and importing well working PDF templates, they had exactly that issue. I tried getting it to work by including <br /> into the empty <p> tags, which did the trick sometimes, but not always.

Thank you Rick! Thats good to know. I'll talk to a developer colleague and try to get something scripted to clean up the files before importing them. Thanks for your help! Karin

Clear formatting does exactly what I want. My problem is, that I have to open each file to do so. I would prefer this to be automated instead of manually opening several hundred files.

Hi there, I am going to move a lot of HTML files created with a different tool to RH 2022.2.22 (I might even be using the newest version, but thats the one that is currently running stable for my current projects). Most of the cleanup can be accomplished using RegEx, but I am wondering if there is some Script already existing to remove all Inline Formatting spans? Or do I have to ask some js developer? What I want to do achieve is to somehow automatize these steps: Open topic, select all, remove inline formatting. The setting in the project options to not allow inline formatting does not seem to have any impact on imported html files. Any ideas welcome! Thanks Karin

Hi all, I am using RH 2022.2.22 new UI and try to find a report to identify any topics that are not in any map file. The Map ID report only provides the topics that are in a map file. As far as I can see, the Map ID is part of the project properties, but neither in the topic list nor the topic properties report, this information seems to be selectable. Is there any option to find the required information? Or would this be a feature request? I can hardly imagine that I should be the first one to want this ^^ Thanks for any ideas. Karin

I am wondering if your problem with the header styles might have to do something with one of these settings in the template you use: Have you tried an HTML5 output? Does the problem occur there as well? Or do the styles look as expected there? Best regards Karin

Do you have this setting disabled? Then, the topics should be displayed by name, not by titles. Sometimes, you will have to switch this setting on and off again to fix the displayed order. Hope this helps!

The only idea I can offer is to try the output with only the half of your css and see if this works. If it does, try the other half of your css to narrow down the exact style that is causing the problem. You could create a bunch of copies of your css and remove different parts of it in the different versions.

Hi there, this is how I am working: - files in Contents panel have numbers to sort them the way I want them (i. e. the file NAME has the numbering, something like 00_Updates.htm) - the TITLE of each topic (different property) is the text I want to show in the TOC - when auto-creating the TOC, alwasy the TITLE of the topics is used, so, the numbers aren't shown there, but the sorting is correct - only issue is, that folders are always sorted to the top, even with numbers (as is the case on a file system). So, when you are using folders to organize your topics, you'll have to move them around in the TOC after auto-creation Also, I did not detect the numbers showing anywhere in my search results or elsewhere in the output. Only the topic title is shown there as well.

Hi all, My Robohelp is on version 2022.2.22. When I check for updates, it wants to update to version 2022.2.0. Does anyone know which the most current version is? I would think, the version I am using is more up to date than the update? Thanks Karin

Just a short remark regarding the copying of page layouts around templates: another solution would be to create the new page layout in each template and then copy & paste the complete source code.

Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply and your suggestions. As for the Front Matter Topics: I added my logo also to the Common layout, but as far as I can see, no page layout at all is used for Front Matter Topics. Maybe you will have time to test this sometimes later. Currently, I can find no way to have my logo applied to my Front Matter Topics except to maybe directly include it in the topic itself. Best regards Karin

Hi all, I am trying to update my projects to RH 2022. For my PDF output, I have several front matter topics defined, like Front Page, Copyright, Change History, TOC. In RH 2022, the templates seem to work quite different. I can find a setting to define separate page layouts for the Front Page and the TOC, but not for any further topics in my front matter section. Can this be achieved in some way? What I actually want is Header 1 / no footer for my Front Page, Header 2 / no footer for Copyright, Change History and TOC and Header 2 / footer for the rest of my document. Having Copyright and Change History in the front matter folder seems to have the effect that no template at all is applied, so they don't have a header. If I put them out of the front matter folder, the sorting sequence of my document is no longer correct. Also, is it possible to only define the look and feel (i.e. header and footer) of the front page without having to define its content as well? This would enable me to use one PDF template for all my outputs. As far as I can see, I have to also define the content of the Cover Page, so I would need a PDF template for each ouptut separately. Am I missing something here? Thanks! Karin

Yes, that's true. So, manually sorting the TOC would be a one-time-solution only.

As far as I know, this is not possible. In this case, you will have to either manually sort your TOC according to your needs or already have your files sorted correctly, e.g. by using numbers in front of the file name (that's what I use to do).

Maybe this is some kind of misunderstanding. The auto-TOC will show TOPIC TITLES, but sort alphabetically by FILE NAMES. E.g. you have the following topics: File name: 10_Beta (topic title: Beta) File name: 20_Alpha (topic title: Alpha) The auto-TOC will look as follows (seemingly the wrong way round due to the sorting by FILE NAMES, which have numbers): Beta Alpha In your contents panel, when sorting by topic title, it will read: Alpha Beta Maybe this clarifies things. Otherwise, like Amber says, it would be good if you could share some screenshots with what you see and what you expect to see.
