Question

community.adobe vs adobe.community

Basic question ...

I've used community.adobe for years ...

I just saw a pop-up at the bottom for "Explore the new Adobe Community." and clicking the link goes to adobe.community.

Questions:

  • Do I have to set up new login info on adobe.community, or will my info from community.adobe migrate/transfer over?
  • Are both forum/communities going to be maintained for the foreseeable future?
  • What is the overall plan?

It seems a bit odd to have two different forums to maintain for the same issues and user base.

Adobe recently switched to a new community platform.

All former URLS redirect to this new one.

    https://community.adobe.com/community/

    Toe-mate-o, Toe-matt-o it’s all the same thing.

Yeah, that does sound a bit confusing at first. Usually in these kinds of transitions, companies keep the same login system, so your existing account should work without needing to create a new one.

Most likely, they’re gradually moving everything to the new platform, so both communities might run in parallel for a while before the old one is phased out.

It’s pretty common during migrations, even though it feels messy from a user perspective.

You might want to check if there’s any official announcement explaining the roadmap.

And yeah, changes like this can feel annoying, but staying patient helps — kind of like how people stay consistent with reciting Surah Yaseen or even keeping a simple Surah Yaseen handy to stay calm and focused.

@kglad - Apparently, I missed that memo. Would you have a link to the details? i.e. is the new community an alternative to the current community, or a future replacement or undecided at this point, etc?

    Thanks!

That link made sense. community.adobe is not changing. The home page for the forum is now going to adobe.community and adobe.community is going to have links to the forums along with links to the inspiration galleries and behance, and resources and events.

Basically, just a larger hompage for the forums.

Personally, I tend to come to the forums (and only the forums) for assistance, so it's just an extra mouse-click to get to them for me, but not a huge deal.

i rarely use that home page and when i do it's to go to a particular forum which is difficult to find until i change the forum list to alphabetical and then click more communities a couple of times.  ie, it was poorly designed before and still is poorly designed (for my usage).
