It was also partly because nobody was really in charge of that forum, so many of the even on-topic questions went unanswered.

Thanks. Was wondering if it was just me. I access it through bookmarks and was thinking that it may have moved or something.

I also read the feedback forum... and noticed that "about" 9 out of 10 messages were completely off the topic that was stated on the main page

It may be that "someone" at Adobe simply tired of so much off topic chatter and decided to delete that forum

Good question. It has been removed from the list of discussion areas. So I expect that the forum was removed. The forums have been undergoing some housekeeping. Some changes have been announced, some just seem to happen. I think the adobe.com forum served at purpose. I'll ask what happened with the forum.
